Draft to pint at Dutch’s. Looks good; black with foamy beige head that slowly dissipates into lacing. Smells doughy, yeasty, and spicy. Tastes like it smells with a malty backbone. Average on the palate with a fairly dry finish. Solid. Tmoney99 (14851) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 18, 2012
Tap. Poured hazy dark brown with an average frothy brown head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex dark spice aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark spice sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a smooth complex standout beer.

Two days ago had the current Anchor Christmas beer, and really appreciated the spice & hop flavor blending happening here. This 12 12 12 takes to another level. Abby said it tasted like a Chinese medicine herb mixture. I smelled bananas and a complexity of herbs. The table was busy and i couldn’t take notes. chocolate powder, cayenne, pecans. tight dark head over near black body. fine sipping mouth feel. tcane7 (1674) - Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 17, 2012
Draft at Stone. Pours deep brown, near black, some tan head. Spices, orange peel. Pretty booy. luttonm (6634) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 17, 2012
12oz from tap at Brouwer’s in Seattle, leftover from Vertical Epic night. Great finale to the series. Pretty black with gray-brown head. Big autumnal pie flavors - cloves, peppercorn, juniper maybe. Sweet balanced body with tart-bitter hop bite. A tasty beer, plenty of flavor and a bit out there. Would love to age some of this too. Lots of fun

22 ounce bottle. Roasty and spicy with cinnamon and chocolate. All spice pretty dominant here. This is basically an intense holiday beer. jjuf1853 (1302) - Land O Lakes, Florida, USA - DEC 17, 2012
Draft at Brass Tap Trinity. Pours a dark chocolate brownish black with a tan head. Upper head forms sudsy lacing ring around the top of the glass while the rest of the head subdivides into smaller islands throughout the surface. Aroma packs a wallop of a punch of spices headlines by clove and cinnamon. Flavor is pretty unique but the spices start to overpower the finish towards the end. Still a fairly enjoyable beer though. ON draft at T Phillips Alehouse in La Verne. Poured a dark black with thin head. Aroma was sweet cinnamon and spices. Taste was slightly roasted malt with a nice holiday spice finish. Like a stout mixed with Anchor Christmas beer. Pretty good and I like the fact that the Belgian yeast was hard to spot on this year’s. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - DEC 17, 2012
Draft at blue monk. Dark pour, tan head. Christmas spice aroma, cinnamon cloves and allspice . Christmas flavor, black licqorice, cigarette finish that lingers. Fuller mouthfeel. Decent Peacehammer (624) - California, USA - DEC 17, 2012
opened on 12-12-12. Thicker black pour than I’d have thought. Nose is all spices, somewhat indistinguishable. Harsh spices cover the palate, and a finishing spicy bitterness. Not the best from this series, but still decent.
