4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle. Aroma: Oatmeal, cocoa powder, coffee, light alcohol, smoke. Some spicey and citrus hop notes. Appearance: Black in color and opaque. Dark tan head was large and creamy with fair retention. Small, spotty lacing. Flavor: Lots of roasted malt flavors (Coffee, smoke, light anise). More chocolate in the nose, but a good chocolate note shines through. Some hot alcohol flavor as it warms. Grassy and pine hop notes into the finish. Bitterness plays nicely against all the malt flavors. Slightly sweet finish. Palate: Full bodied and very smooth. Medium carbonation. Significant alcohol warming in mouth and chest. Overall: Nice beer. Mouthfeel was perfect. Rich and smooth with just the right level of carbonation. Alcohol was a little hot.
Pours pitch black with dark brown head, rather balanced, but quite small. Aroma is full of cocoa, dark chocolate, coffee beans, some vanilla and typical dark malts aromas. It could be more intensive. Taste is quite powerful punch of chocolate and cocoa as well as roasted grains, similar to chocolate or coffee liquor. Suprisingly high bitterness, it overwhelms finish, which is long and warming. Full-bodied with oily texture. Very nice beer. Idiosynkrasie (7848) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2017
650ml bottle. Jet black colour with slightly late awakening, small to average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, tan head. Chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, fruity hoppy overtones with hints of physalis and blueberry. Taste is minimally sweet, chocolately dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, hints of liquorice, a touch of rust, blood, blueberry, physalis; minimally sticky palate. Super clean, relatively light and easy drinkable. Handypaul (580) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - SEP 21, 2017
Bottle. Pours black with a pinkey finger, brown, creamy mostly lasting to a ring head that leaves no lacing. Creamy texture, medium body, medium bitter owing to the oatmeal, lightly sweet, soft carbonation, big nose of molasses, flavor of chocolate and a lingering medium bitter finish. alex_leit (5025) - Minsk, BELARUS - AUG 24, 2017

Vom Fass Stone Brewing Berlin 2016-04 getrunken. Auch ein perfektes Imperial Stout allerdings ohne Schörkel. Doch die Haferflocken machen die Stout ganz cremig weich am Gaumen und machen es zu was besonderen. Lecker!
Vom Fass Stone Brewing Berlin 2016-10 getrunken (Special Rating 1-4-8-5-8) .

1pt 6fl oz bottle at home from De Caigny, Belgium. Nose is cocoa, roasted malt, light smoke, vanilla. Body is black, head is small, brownish, creamy, mostly lasting, good lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, dried fruits, old wood, dust, attic, dark chocolate. Light sweet, medium to heavy bitter. Finish is long lasting roasty and hoppy medium bitter, alcohol is not noticeable. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Relative easy dessert beer, tasty, well balanced, nice one. neongolden (1788) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 3, 2017
(650ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours black with with a big latte-coloured head that fades to a solid cap with lace. Aroma of unsweetened chocolate, umami, burnt grains, molasses, some brewed coffee, sweet but with some balancing bitterness. Semisweet chocolate, torrified sugar, sweet black coffee, rapidly shifting towards bitter notes of roasted, somewhat burnt grains, baker’s chocolate and cacao nibs, a little hint of a liqueur to it, and then finishing bone dry with no real hint of the sugary sweetness from the start, long lingering burnt grain and unsweetened chocolate notes. Mouthfeel is moderately thick but fairly silky, oats showing a bit, with soft carbonation. Feels like a foreign stout more than an impy, given the relatively lighter body and ABV for contemporary examples of the style. It drinks really really easily for that ABV though.
