COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stone 13th Anniversary Ale pours brilliant deep red with a light tan foam. Up front, the aroma is all piney, resinous and citrus hops. Upon tasting, the hops are still on the front, and they are balanced with the malty, toffee like flavors contributed from the blend of crystal and amber malts used in the brewhouse. The finish is deliciously bitter, with a touch of warmth provided by the 9.5% alcohol. Bitterness comes in at 90+ IBU.

On tap at the Blind Tiger Ale House, NYC. It pours dark reddish brown with a thin tan head. The nose is Christmas pudding, pine, dark fruits, currants, rum, date and cherry. The taste is cherry, date, fig, raisin, dark chocolate, caramel, charcoal, toffee and alcohol warmth, with a long dry-bitter finish. It has a sticky mouth-feel and is well balanced, making it an enjoyable American Strong.

Medium mouthfeel with a bitter hops with caramel and pine. Alcohol present but not too overpowering, a good American strong ale from Stone.

Bottle shared by Danny at the Party source. Poured reddish brown color with an average to large frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy malt and earthy hop aroma. Moderate to full body with a smooth slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy biiter sweet flavor to medium bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met with a complex beer and may become a standout with a year.

A dark reddish brown ale with a thin dark moka head. Nice aroma of hops, licorice, soy sauce, herbal and complex. In mouth, burned caramel malt with soy sauce, loads of c-hops, toffee, light coffee grains and super warming alcohol. Rich, onctuous, and challenging. Bottle from Probstk, thanks Karl.

Drake (14059) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 2, 2009
22 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a deep dark cranberry red color, clear, with a medium tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is hugely hoppy with resin, pine and peppery notes. Taste is big, bitter citrus hops with some spicy, leafy hops notes also. Big malty notes also with toffee, honey, and faint tropical, berry and dark fruit notes. Light boozy alcohol notes. Full bodied and the bitterness really lingers on the palate in a nice way.
