COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
20th Anniversary Encore Series: Stone 14th Anniversary Emperial IPA is a dry-bodied ale that’s powerfully spicy with an earthy aroma. On the palate, peppery hops assert themselves early and often, with malt sweetness and a light biscuit flavor making a brief appearance before a long, complex and decisively bitter finish. There is one thing decidedly San Diego about this beer, and that’s its aggressive dose of hops. 20th Anniversary Encore Series: Stone 14th Anniversary Emperial IPA is brewed to enjoy fresh but true to its origin, ages especially well on a six-month long ocean voyage.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Porter & Sons. Thanks Ariel. Cloudy golden. Fruity hoppy aroma with some oranges, flowers and some malty notes. Sweetish fruity flavor with a bit of somewhat honey-ish malt and a bitter hoppy finish. Medium-bodied.

Scopey (14730) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 1, 2011
Bottle from Brewdog Bar, Aberdeen. It pours a hazy straw yellow colour with a foamy white head. The nose is hay, farmyard, floral notes, straw and citrus fruits. The taste is of farmyard, biscuit, bread, lots of lemon, grapefruit, passion fruit, pine and spicy ginger towards the decent bitter finish. Quite a bit lighter than I expected, especially with the % and IBU it boasts.

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy orange gold with a small creamy off white head that lasts awhile. The aroma is a sweet fruit and floral. Medium mouthfeel with a dry hop and pepper wih a nice lingering bitter finish. Hides the alcohol well making it easy to drink, a very impressive IIPA from Stone.

Medium body with slick texture and soft carbonation and thin particles. Medium to heavy smooth yeast bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very good beer.

I think it was pretty good, they Americanized the English hops, it’s very nice.
