COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
20th Anniversary Encore Series: Stone 14th Anniversary Emperial IPA is a dry-bodied ale that’s powerfully spicy with an earthy aroma. On the palate, peppery hops assert themselves early and often, with malt sweetness and a light biscuit flavor making a brief appearance before a long, complex and decisively bitter finish. There is one thing decidedly San Diego about this beer, and that’s its aggressive dose of hops. 20th Anniversary Encore Series: Stone 14th Anniversary Emperial IPA is brewed to enjoy fresh but true to its origin, ages especially well on a six-month long ocean voyage.

Scopey (16223) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 1, 2011
Bottle from Brewdog Bar, Aberdeen. It pours a hazy straw yellow colour with a foamy white head. The nose is hay, farmyard, floral notes, straw and citrus fruits. The taste is of farmyard, biscuit, bread, lots of lemon, grapefruit, passion fruit, pine and spicy ginger towards the decent bitter finish. Quite a bit lighter than I expected, especially with the % and IBU it boasts.

Bomber from Taylors Market in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy golden amber with a three finger frothy white head. Getting a floral, earth, pepper, citrus mixed aroma. Medium plus body with foamy carbonation of a sort. It’s really fresh. Fruity. Floral. Peppery. Finishes dry with just a touch of fresh stone fruit with hot bits. Man, tell me it’s a saison, and I might believe you. Fantastic.

Bomber poured a clear gold with a lasting off white head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, citrus and white pepper. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, white pepper and lemon zest with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.

Bottle. Poured hazy golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate earthy hop, yeast and alcohol aroma. Medium body with slick texture and soft carbonation and thin particles. Medium to heavy smooth yeast bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very good beer.

Drake (14332) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 2, 2010
22 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy light amber colir with a large pillowy head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus and spicy, herbal hops. The taste is very bitter, intensely bitter hops. Big herbal notes with a slight medicinal quality, with some stone fruits, citrus and caramel. Medium-full bodied. Definitely an interesting one.

I think it was pretty good, they Americanized the English hops, it’s very nice.
