Bomber. Pours a golden orange with a beige head and aroma of strong hops and pine. Taste is bitter, lots of hops, pine, resin, and caramel with a dry, bitter finish. jjgmd (2212) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - DEC 17, 2015
Pours a rusty orange hazy color with a beige head . Nose is a hoppy mint with citrus and pine . Taste is a nice confluence of hops and crisp grainy malts . Finishes on the same tasting notes , dryly on a moderately long ending . quaff score 6 / 10 Beerandhockey8 (417) - Three Forks, Montana, USA - NOV 29, 2015
From 22oz bottle to snifter. Pour is a hazy yellow with a white lively head. Nose is huge hops, floral, piney. Taste is medium bodied, bitter. Finishes clean on the palate, lingering taste. Stone always comes through.

Pours a slightly hazy, pale golden orange color with tangerine edges and a one finger white foam head that quickly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Sporadic streaks and spots of soapy lacing left behind.
Floral, grassy aroma with a complex hop profile that’s countered by a biscuit-y pilsner malt backbone. Some resinous oils with a spicy, grassy saaz character as well as some summit like onion scent, earthy pine, spruce tip and straw. There’s a touch of citrus/tropical fruit but the hops are more resinous and earthy. Pale malt backbone with biscuit and bread as well as a little bit of toffee and caramel. The nose kind of reminds me of a DIPA/imperial pils hybrid.
Slightly chewy mouthfeel that’s on the fuller end of the spectrum with a blast of bitter, earthy hops that linger over the sweet malt backbone into a boozy, dry finish. The hops are much stronger than the nose suggests, but unfortunately it’s not as complex as expected. Dry, bitter and earthy with sticky resinous oils, grassy saaz, pine needle and dank, sticky buds. Just a touch of the summit-like onion flavor but it’s lacking in sweetness/citrus character. The malt backbone is stronger and sweeter than expected. Not picking up much pilsner malt flavor. Feels more caramel like with bread, biscuit and toffee. Not much heat but there is some noticeable boozy sweetness in the finish.
Overall, this is an interesting direction to take the style but it doesn’t completely work for me. The malt presence is a bit too strong and the hop flavor is a bit one dimensional for my liking. I could feel the German pils influence in the aroma but its lacking in the beer’s flavor. alexsdad06 (10586) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - SEP 21, 2015
Draft at Dutch’s (also 22 oz bottle) from backlog notes. Pours a clear orange golden color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have big Noble hop character; floral, herbal, grassy, pine with big pilsner malts, caramel, toasted bread, moderate bitterness, medium plus body, good carbonation, this is an interesting imperial pilsner ipa hybrid that was good enough to have more than once. Poured into a snifter.
2.75 A: Lightly hazed light orange color. Just over one finger of frothy beige head. Retention is lacking and just a wisp or two of lacing is left. Weak for an IPA.
3.75 S: Hop forward and I would expect nothing less. Piney and floral with notes of tropical fruits including mango and papaya. Some earthiness and perhaps grassiness as well. Not much to say about the malts other than that they had to put some in. Neutral maltiness with a moderate sweetness.
3.5 T: Again the focus is hops. Moderate bitterness. Piney and earthy from start to finish. Floral in between. Mango and papaya are spotted here and there. Pretty straightforward taste. Not a lot of complexity and not a lot of maltiness other than the neutral sweetness that has to accompany a beer this big.
4.0 M: Medium to heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Pleasantly creamy with a subtle lingering bitterness.
3.75 D: Good beer. No complaints. Fairly standard.

Bottle. Pours golden with a thin white head. Aroma of floral hops, pine, citrus and grapefruit. Flavor was lightly bitter with citrus, pine, floral, grass and grapefruit. Medium body, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Akfan (27) - USA - DEC 13, 2014
Bottle. Poured great gold color, aroma was piney but ohhh so good. Then of course the dank hop just did me in. Great mouth feel. One fav here.
