Wtf! IPA? Hello Imperial Pilsner. Blah. I expected a lot more from Stone for a 17 year anniversary batch. Disappointed. Call this what it is, and I would rate it much higher!

Little dark, but the aroma gets you past that. The taste is piney, getting very bitter, and then as you swallow it you get a second wave of hoppy, resiny flavor. Delicious.

So big, full-bodied, flavorful. Plenty of malt sweetness without being cloying. Plenty of hop bitterness without the pucker factor. Just want to sit and sip a while. Yum!! Hypo_Luxa (59) - Osaka, JAPAN - NOV 3, 2013
Poured a light golden head.
Smelled of grapes or muscat.
Taste is creamy, bready, fruity.

A very good ipa built on a very good body. Enjoyed the spectrum of hop flavors from grapefruit to pine. Got the last 2 bombers in the shop tambrico (50) - New York, USA - SEP 27, 2013
Nice floral aroma similar to most double IPA’s I’ve had. Pours an ever so slightly hazy amber color with a foamy white head that lingered actually longer than I expected it to. Taste was less fruity and more bready than a typical DIPA, but it worked, and it worked well. Palate started off with tasting similar to the bitterness of ruination then that fades into a nice bready maltiness that does, for a second, remind me of a pilsner. Then that fades into a lingering bitterness that is just fantastic. Awesome beer. I’d put it on par with Ruination. brison (44) - atlanta, Georgia, USA - AUG 13, 2013
Very interesting. Super refreshing and light which is deceiving for the alcohol content. One of the better fusions of two styles that i have seen. roacheater (43) - Alabama, USA - AUG 20, 2013
walk into the forest... walk DEEP into the forest... look around.. listen.. find an old pinetree.. find a very old pinetree.. locate the bright green tips.. grab a large handful of those needles.. shove them in your mouth and chew.. slowly, firmly.. until the bittersweet resin coats your teeth.. your tongue.. and your soul.
