COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our latest anniversary beer, starring an all-German cast of malt and hops, is yet one more glorious example of a Stone IPA brewed outside the box. Our brewers have brought their experiments with German hops to fruition, leaving convention behind to create this hefty IPA entirely with pilsner malts. These provide a superbly crisp mouthfeel, while a unique mix of noble and new-school hop varieties adds layers of bright, bitter flavors. Despite the daunting name, this beer isn’t designed to bring about the end of the world, but it just might destroy some of your preconceived notions of what an IPA can be.

Hops bill: Bitter-hopped with Magnum Late kettle additions: Herkules, Merkur and Opal Whirlpool: Emerald (aka Smaragd) and Strisselspalt from the Alsace region of France, which is just a stone’s throw across the Rhine from the German border. Dry-hopped with a 50/50 blend of German Hersbrucker and Sterling

Malt bill: Weyerman Pilsner Malt, Briess GoldPils Vienna

Golden with thin rimming white head; aroma is fresh cut grass; Flava is rich hoppy notes of spice and soft sweetness like honey; feels medium thick with nice amount of fizz; finishes dry and hoppy with some spice and woodsy notes

Very interesting. Super refreshing and light which is deceiving for the alcohol content. One of the better fusions of two styles that i have seen.

this beer is all about the hops and I like these German varieties - they work extremely well. pours a brilliant golden with a big frothy white head. big citrus, pine and floral notes across the nose. med body with a nice bitterness accompanied by more citrus hop flavors. big bitterness, big flavor and big aroma. reminds me of Enjoy By a bit with a different twist on the hops. excellent!

When I die I want to come back as a Stone Brewery. This is easily one of the best I/DIPA’s I have tasted. It’s nice to see Stone remains on the cutting edge. Stop reading this and go buy it.

Une explosion de sucres et saveurs florales difficile à identifier, pas de résine comme les ipa massives mais plutôt un sucre terreux. Plus je la bois plus les saveurs s’installent, des notes plus tropicales se libèrent. Buvabilité dangereuse.

Bright Clear Orange with a high amount of carbonation and a thick yet filmy head. Nose is citrus hops, grapefruit, mangoes, pine and pale malts. Flavor has a strong piney bitterness upfront, followed by citrus hops, pale malts, bitter resin, mangoes and a distinct earthiness. Body is moderate in weight and mild in carbonation. Very good IPA that reminds me of both Enjoy By and 3 Floyds Dreadnaught.

Draft at Jerry’s / Orange with good, foamy, white head, fair lacing / Bright nose of fresh-squeezed oj, cream, pine, resin / Medium to full body, lush, sweet but with excellent balance and hop bite, bitter finish / Flavors of orange peel, grapefruit, pine, caramel, cream / Just great, with spectacular body.

if you’ve ever had your hands sticky with pine sap and smelled them, that’s the exact same aroma. Taste is also pin-heavy, but with some citrus and tropical fruit thrown in as well. Another amazing IPA from Stone.

On tap at Taps in Petaluma. Pours a pale golden color. Strong hop flavors that start out really mellow. Bitter aftertaste that lingers. Very unique hop flavor.
