Unlear orange amber with a slight off white head. Lots of hop character with a fairly strong bitterness. Interesting creation.
10/1/2016 -- from notes: 22oz bottle, from Dutch's. Bottled 8/28/2016. Mostly clear orange color. Thin off-white head. Great webs of lace. Grapefruit citrusy hop. Mild piney. CaramelBigger bitterness. Light to moderate sweet. Some alcohol warmth. Bigger body, mild slick. Mild caramel, hint of that honey I think.. and the Avocado? Not sure if I'm imagining that or not. Pretty interesting beer though, satisfying balance and biggness. Nice to enjoy with my sandwich. natejgood (537) - Bozeman, Montana, USA - OCT 28, 2017
Pours a brownish orange. I know that doesn't sound great but it's actually a pretty good looking beer. Nice looking head, too, which stick to the side of the glass. Strong aroma of malts and hops. Maybe a bit of grapefruit as well. Flavor has more malt and earth than I was expecting. That goes along with a pretty good hop kick on the front end and some sweetness on the back end. This beer has a fair amount going on in the flavor category. Interesting beer and not bad for a random special edition. Strykzone (7848) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUL 23, 2017
Bomber from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Deep copper hue with a three fingers of beige foam. Moderate lacing. I smell the Citra with the citrus and tropical fruit. Nice. Flavor is the Citra. Citrus and tropical deliciousness. Ron tells me there is pine. Sure wish I could more easily taste pine. Rich malts have some caramel and cereal. Plenty of sweetness. Being a 9% beer, this hides the alcohol quite well. I like this a lot but find it to be a dangerous concoction at 9%. hayduke (5742) - Eureka, California, USA - JUL 23, 2017
This was shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. Pours a rich copper color with an off-white head. . Nose of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit. Full body. Flavor is much like the aroma and there is a lot of it. Finishes dry an with tropical and bitterness. Excellent. bergstaden (3394) - Røros, NORWAY - JUL 11, 2017
Light amber with off white head - Good hop aroma from citrus, fruits and hints of pine - Good malt body to support hop that is fruity, citrus and herbal piney with a good bitterness - The hops goes into the finish that has some dry notes - This was real good

At Brass Tap, Coral Springs with Audrie, pours a dark copper orange pour with a beige head. Nose is fresh peaches and deep tropical fruit...Taste is bold sweet citrus with a confluence of ’ cinnamon and floral ’ notes. Ends on deep sweet citrus and spicy notes...delicious but rather easier to taste than describe. Nevertheless excellent ! Quaff Score 8 /10 mabel (10011) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 14, 2017
[8926-20161209] 1pt6floz bottle. Sweet honeyed floral aroma. Clear, dark amber orange body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Bitter grainy orange citrus wood flavour has a hot peppery feel. Medium body. Good, interesting. (6/3/7/3/14) 3.3

22 ounce bottle into a Creature Comforts glass. Bottled August 2016.
Pours with a hazy, copper/orange body. The head is moderate in size with good retention and ample soapy lacing.
Aroma: dank and fruity, with hints of orange, grapefruit, melon, pine, yeast and bisquits.
Flavor: pungent and complex; moderately bitter for style. Largely follows the aroma with suggestions of orange, tangerine and grapefruit. Little pine. Well hidden alcohol.
Feel: full, smooth body; medium carbonation; dry finish.
Overall: a well crafted DIPA from Stone. Strongly flavored but reasonably well balanced, Freaky_tiki (1424) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 13, 2017
Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a thick & hazy amber with a thin skin of bubbly foam across the surface. Aromas of sweet malt & canned fruit. Comes across as a boozed-up amber ale with hop injections. A bit of pine & woody bitterness. Honey is strong & floral. A low-key fruit salad: canned pineapple, some guava, papaya enhanced with a squeeze of lemon Not quite the Citra celebration I was hoping for -- Great Lakes KarmaCitra is still the podium holder in my books -- but still an enjoyable hop feast. kevinator (2887) - The Colony, Texas, USA - FEB 26, 2017
Really great and a good representation of this brewery’s legacy. Bold aromas and matching flavors of floral and citrus hops with a very balanced malt base. I hope it returns some day.
