As you’d expect from Stone, a big hop forward beer. 8.8% but so easy to drink. Little dangerous. onceblind (11474) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 19, 2016
Brilliant clear golden under a sticky rocky off white head. Dank and weedy aroma with a piney bit of resin and some grapefruit rind. Stern resiny hoppiness and grapefruity pith on the flavor, bold and brash with just a little touch of pale malt to balance. Quite resiny and piney overall but dank and weedy...I shouldn’t enjoy this but I do. It’s very clean and well put together, full, not too boozy or too far on either hop extreme. Quite interesting and delightful. bhensonb (16238) - Woodland, California, USA - SEP 18, 2016
Bomber from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours copper with a white head. Aroma of juicy tropical fruit and citrus. Med body. Flavor is bready, peppery, mixed fruit. Fairly juicy. Finishes dryer than might be, and very bitter IMO. Really nice stuff. OldGrowth (3665) - the Containment Area, North Carolina, USA - SEP 18, 2016
Bottle, from Highcraft beer market, Cary NC. Ok aroma, sweet, earthy, pine. Clean brownish orange color, ok head, faded quick, little to no lace. Bitter sweet flavor. Heavy body, thick creamy mouthfeel, bitter sweet finish. It’s fine, not wowing me, pine and earth. nearbeer (5746) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 18, 2016
650 ml. bottled 08/07/2016. Clear orange-amber body with a thin disc of cream on top. Nose is resin, toffee, pineapple, green herb and a bit of grapefruit zest. Flavors of dank herb, mango, papaya, pineapple, peppery citrus zest and a touch of banana bread. Medium-plus body has a great balance and a smooth medium carbonation.

Pours a clear golden orange from the bomber with dissipating fluffy white head. Aroma of resinous west coast and new world hops mingling to produce a nice piney citrus. Taste follows with a back end of caramel and biscuit. Lasting bitter finish with a mild carbonation, solid IPA. jake65 (4034) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - SEP 17, 2016
Bottle. Pours a stunning golden color with a creamy layer of beige head. Huge hoppy aroma is citrus, tropical fruits, and resin. A bit dank. Big hoppy taste is flavorful with hops, but not oppressive in bitterness. Lots of citrus and tropical fruit, a little heavier in the resin than the nose would suggest. At 8.8% it’s big, but the abv is well hidden. Really nice stuff. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - SEP 16, 2016
Draft at SB. Pours a cloudy medium amber with a dense and sudsy whitish head. Bright tangy grapefruit, oranges, and a bit of tropical fruit sweetness on the nose. Creamy medium body with moderate carb. Lightly toasted caramel under a big wave of orange, grapefruit, and tropical on the mid palate. Long fruity finish. andrewje41 (4754) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - SEP 14, 2016
Draft pour at Special Brews, as part of a special distributers feature night. Listed at 9.9%. Big time IPA, 6 oz sample. Someone once told me that Stone does no good beer. They haven’t tried this beer. Mostly clear golden orange with a huge foam head. Cool citrus hop aroma and flavor. Like a tangerine juicy constant. Icy cool finish. A gentle bitterness and easy imperial. One that mcberko hasn’t had. All things considered, a solid experience with this beer. A fun citrus and earthy hop articulation. A fresh tasting beer. Solid. From Brewcraft. Drank w Matt after 28 Sands. Pours a clear amber brown with off-white sudsy head and thick foamy wet legs. Smells of medium resin hop, lightly toasty, moderate pepper, crisp dry malt. Taste is massive massive massive resin, a touch of sweet crisp malt in the middle before a dry bitter lightly spicy/woodsy lingering finish. Body is thick, very resinous and bitter, slick, ends on lightly peppery, very dry note. Lasting and trails off in a nice way. Huge, tonnes of West Coast resin in the taste to really earns its double IPA status, but at the same time kind of one-note.
