Tasted on draft @ the brewery. I wasn’t expecting such a large hop punch on a 6+ yr old IPA, but this one truly delivered. Nicely hopped w/ a little musty hop flavor due to the aging. SDbruboy (1864) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 30, 2006
On draft at Bistro during "Winter Storm". Hazy orangey color with a moderate off-white head. This beer was more of a novelty than a great IPA after 6 years of aging, as it had noticible oxidation, and some faint metallic notes. But it still held up quite well, showing nice rich malts and plenty of citrus hops, fruitiness and hints of spice. Full, smooth body and gentle carbonation. Enjoyable overall, but I would have liked to sample this a few years ago! papajohn (1250) - San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA - DEC 29, 2006
On tap at the new Bistro: Fruity pineapple aroma with a hint of evergreen. Hazy peach color with a small off-white head. Flavor starts fruity and sweet with citrus, well balanced with a sharp grapefruit rind bitterness in the finish. I’m sure it has mellowed over the years. Medium bodied and smooth with moderate carbonation. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - DEC 28, 2006
Had it Stone’s Winter Storm. Aroma was of pine and citrus hops. Flavor was much of the same; mildly sour flavor. Pretty good. nimbleprop (8382) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - NOV 21, 2006
Poured a straw colored gold from the bomber with a sudsy white heads. Piney, hoppy, citrus aroma. The flavor is dominated by hops with a lemon citrus flavor. Not incredibly astringent and pleasant to drink.

I had wanted to try this for a while since Stone Brewery is regarded as one of the best breweries in the world. I wasnt dissapointed at all. Fruity with a moderately bitter finsih...love it. onelststnd (19) - Bakersfield, California, USA - NOV 13, 2005
I has heard wonderful things about this Stone IPA. I was left satisfied but not overly thrilled with its taste. It has sort of a fruity-sour taste to it. Ungstrup (37601) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUN 8, 2005
[Sampled October 2004, 4 years old] An unclear orange-yellow beer with a yellow head. The aroma is sweet and quite hoppy - a lot more so than the 3rd anniversary - and quite hoppy for a 4 year old beer. The flavor is sweet and somewhat aged, with clear hoppy and grassy notes - nice for a 4 year old beer - would have loved to taste this fresh. Thanks to cquiroga for sharing this rarity. UPDATED: MAY 9, 2005 One of the better beers I’ve ever had. This is a true Imperial IPA. For Hopheads only. Heavy hop smell, and a lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Coats the tongue and throat thoroughly. Perhaps too hoppy, but what do you expect from Stone? Marc (486) - Yokosuka, JAPAN - APR 10, 2005
Cinder toffee, hop funk, and grassy hops in the nose. Vinious malts, and a bit more toffee with the hops becoming a bit more assertive towards the end with an herbal bitterness. Sliding a bit closer to the charactor of a barley wine in its old age.
