Soury fermented fruit and citrus w/ hints of flowers on the nose... Soury w/ grapefruit in the mouth, it was creamy and smooth, light bodied. This beer poured a very cloudy orange color w/ gold hues, thin lasting head and thick lacing. Blake (396) - Orange, California, USA - JUL 25, 2003

This hoppy beer lives up to the name of Stone Anniversary IPA as it features a very hoppy aroma and flavor. Pours with a orange/yellow coloring and a good amount of carbonation. The Head is white and mostly diminishing, but the lacing is good. The flavor is of hops, malt, and a bit more alcohol flavoring than the 3rd Anniversary. Finishes with a hop bite which lingers for a while (a nice feature of the Stone brews). Another nice addition to the Anniversary line, but of the 3rd - 5th Annivesary IPAs, the 3rd is the best...unfortunately, impossible to find.
9/1/04. Poured out of 22 oz. bottle, bought at Stuffed Sandwich in San Gabriel, CA 9/1/04. An awesome treat for a birthday surprise. Special thanks to Sam at the Stuffed Sandwich for pulling this out and to my momma for buying it! Hazy muddy orange-amber color. Slight, dense head that disappears quickly. For a 4-year-old IPA, I’m impressed that it’s there at all! Rocky, with light lacing and lumpy clusters of head all over. Nose is very malty for an IPA, mostly of light caramel. Flavor has mellowed a ton, nicely round and pretty smooth. The mouthfeel is really nice. Thick and silky. A bit of acidity and a big, dark and dirty hop shock at the end. Drying and dirty finish, long and lightly growing into a lovely warm glow. Some pine and a bit of a minty herbal undertaste. Aged grapefruit rind and citrus. Quite nice overall, but I remember it being better when I had it on draft last summer at Stuffed Sandwich (even much better than the 5th Anniversary at the time, but this bottle was not nearly as good). Still nice, and I’m delighted to have tried it again. Better than the sum of its parts. HoppedHead (106) - seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 6, 2002
Amazing beer, somehow the tons of hops are balanced with solid malt flavor, warming strength, excellent hop profile, clean bitter with pleasent aroma and flavored, beautiful amber hue with lots a hops! ZepolK (102) - South Side Montebello, California, USA - DEC 31, 2003
Citrus and mild pine aroma with some hints of grass. Poured cloudy orange/red with a medium tan head that didn't last. Flavor was strong citrus and pine with bitter hop trailing. Full thick mouth feel and nice dry hop bite.

very hoppy, malty and syrupy. alcohol seems to be non existent--until it hits you later. RiverShark (28) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 9, 2007
Good IPA, not as strong an aftertaste as Dogfish Head. Very pleased with this one. Tweety83 (26) - Blacksburg, Virginia, USA - SEP 18, 2004
Has a strong hops taste. It’s okay. I was not that crazy over it. Has a slight head and bitterness. onelststnd (19) - Bakersfield, California, USA - NOV 13, 2005
I has heard wonderful things about this Stone IPA. I was left satisfied but not overly thrilled with its taste. It has sort of a fruity-sour taste to it.
