UPDATED: AUG 30, 2009 On tap at Stone World Bistro during the XIth Anniversary Festival - 08/07. Burnished orange-copper-red with a thin, fine, light-tan head. Husky, grainy, light toffee/caramel aroma with some light oxidation characteristics and subdued light citrus hops notes. Smooth, lightly penetrating hops bitterness over light caramel sweetness. Some light, fruity hops flavors are present but definitely showing their age, albeit gracefully. Soft, well-rounded mouthfeel that is robust yet delicate, powerful yet graceful. brigg (720) - New York, USA - SEP 5, 2007
(bottle) Orange body with a small off-white head. Sweet nose with fruit (peach, grape, strawberries), floral and citrus hops, and alcohol. Very strong, pleasant aroma. Flavor has more alcohol than expected; past that, hops and ripe fruit, and some malt. Finish is acidic, bitter; very dry - maybe too dry. Warming alcohol aftertaste. Full bodied and carbonated feel. kp (10880) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2007

Clear amber, fine white head, drippy lace, sweet carael malt aroma with lots of piney citrus hops, big hop flavor well balanced on top of a rich sweet carmel malt base, long bitter finish, initally a slight hint of alcohol fumes,
Aroma: 9/10; Appearance: 8/10; Flavor: 7/10; Palate: 5/10; Overall: 16/20
The score was calculated based upon the notes and an old scoring system.
Orange-copper in colour, lingering off-white coloured head, some light lacing. The aroma is still very hoppy, lots of caramel sweetness, citrus, lingering old pine, bready, resinous. The flavour is less hoppy than the aroma - more muted - lingering pine, some caramel malts sweetness, some light alcohol. Chewy bitter mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes very long and very hoppy. Very good stuff, the hops are still there, nicely done.

Bottle. Sampled 5/22 at "Everybody Must Drink Stone" event at Monk’s Cafe. Reddish amber color with a thin, off-white head. Floral hop aroma with caramel in the background. Hops dominate the palate, but the malt offers good support; very well balanced. Really nice.

Bottle from Goldtwins as part of the perfect 10 swap--thanks Larry! Lots of malt, slight alcohol presence, and nice caramel scents. Copper body with a medium head. Full palate. Full caramel taste up front with just loads of malt--impressive for the age on this. Touch of hops in the finish balances it out. spector (906) - Lancaster, Ohio, USA - MAY 20, 2007
Lots of caramel and slight alcohol in the aroma.Pours a cloudy copper with very little head.Nice caramel and alcohol flavor.Mouthfeel was just a little thin with a malt finish. sliffy (2040) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 20, 2007
C-Bus 7 Bottle shared by moejuck: Pours a hazy copper with a white head. Aroma, very malty, some spices, caramel, and a hint of alcohol? Flavor, caramel up front, malts were predominant, very sweet now that the hops have faded a lot. Still pretty solid. mds (2256) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 12, 2007
Bottle. Pours a murky, bright orange body with a white bubbly/soapy head. Heavy resinous aroma with bread and residual sweetness. There are also hints at toffee and butterscotch.
Interestingly enough there is still a lot of hop character in the flavour with persistent caramel and toffee notes. The alcohol content is well masked by the seemingly chewy palate. Finishes with some toast and orangey hops but not at all overwhelming throughout the journey.

Thanks for the opportunity, radiomgb. Sampled on April 21, 2007.
Has an interesting mix of that old-ale aroma with hops, but okay. Taste has some bite throughout, but not too much. Definitely mellowing (or so I’m told) but still pleasant enough for me.
