COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The coffee notes in Stone Americano Stout are bold, rich and full of American swagger. For each 120-barrel batch, we incorporated over 250 lbs. of artisanal espresso-roast beans into the mash and added in Columbus, Chinook, Amarillo and Cascade hops to invigorate the coffee taste with a slight citrus and resin hop presence. When it came time to selecting our coffee, we chose the same local roasters who contributed to our sought-after 2013 Stone ESPRESSO Imperial Russian Stout. Their fantastic beans helped us achieve this dark, hoppy and wonderfully aromatic espresso stout.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of floral coffee notes with light roasted malt and black chocolate notes is quite sublime. Taste is a nice mix of floral coffee notes with light residual sugar notes, roasted malt with some black chocolate notes. Body is full with nice creamy texture and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol notes. Another solid stout for this fine brewery with great coffee notes.

Pitch black colour, cream head. Aroma of coffee, lots of coffee. Roasted malts, hops. Bitter flavour, bitter coffee, sweet caramel note. Finish sweet caramel and loads of coffee. Lingering hoppy note. Nice!

Sampled from a bottle, poured into a glass, this beer poured a dark brown – black into the tulip glass and gave about one finger of tan colored bubbles, it left nice spots and small fingers of lacing, upon pouring, the nose had bright roasted malt with coffee and a little dry dark chocolate, a little molasses and brown sugar, as the beer warmed up, some roasted coffee appeared, and the coffee became stronger and unfortunately was above everything else, the coffee had the green coffee note that grew, the flavors were pretty much all coffee with some roasted malt, caramel, faint chocolate, malt and burnt sugar sweetness, the finish had a strong coffee bitterness and roasted malt bitterness that cut through any sweetness, the bitterness lingered on the tongue, the mouth feel was medium full, it was creamy and had average carbonation, a very coffee based drink, big coffee all the way, it had green coffee on the nose but I did not taste any green coffee, ok drink.

Bottle. Pretty good but not really deep or complex enough for the style. Coffee, chocolate, raisins etc. Bottle about 10 months old so may have lost something. Good but I want more.

Tap at Bevog Festival 2017. Dark brown with a brown-ish rim. Loads of roasty coffee, dark chocolate, some berries, some malt. Light sweetness, turns rather dry with light roasty bitterness. Medium body with soft carbonation. Liked this one quite a lot.

Draft. Black body with brown head. Aroma is roasted malts coffee. Taste is dark roasted malts vanilla chocolate coffee. Aftertaste is nice roasted malts bitterness slighty balanced by some vanilla sweetness. Nice one.
