3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Golden pour with a white head. Aroma is a bit sweet and malty. Some wheat and bread, lemon, herbs, and lots of floral notes. A touch of ginger, perhaps. The flavor is lightly bitter and a bit tart. Lemon, bread, wheat, and herbs. Ginger and lots of flowers. Meh.
September 22nd, 2013 - Light, effervescent, crisp and citrusy, this feels like unfamiliar territory for Stone. But the bold combinations of styles and ingredients is well within their wheelhouse. On the nose I catch a light and citrusy smell, suggesting lime and the salinity of seaside air, topped with the lights drizzle of popcorn butter. Perhaps margarita movie night at Big Sur? The palate is spritzy, which delivers a buoyant burst of the lime citrus taste. And the rest of the flavor is very dry, with pronounced grapefruit notes in the hops, but bitter, not fruity. The bitterness reaches a peak in the aftertaste before collapsing and revealing one last, soft flavor of grapefruit sweetness and the last wisp of lime. Too bad they didn’t have this in July. I’d alternate between sipping it and bathing in it. dnstone (3524) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - APR 10, 2015

UPDATED: APR 2, 2015 "I figured a hoppy wit was what they were going for by the name (but no description) on the menu. This definitely seemed like more wit and less IPA, a surprise given who brewed it. That said, it was a very solid and refreshing beer. I’d just have expected Stone to make one of the best or THE best White IPA and this was not that beer. A solid wit that’s kind of hoppy."
Revisits are hoppier and better. Peacehammer (627) - California, USA - OCT 27, 2013
cloudy golden orange. Big fluffy head. Yeast notes and a slight hop presence on the nose. Zesty, and a nice wheat forward mouthfeel. Refreshing. want1DIPA (227) - - OCT 22, 2013
On draft at Stone. This one had a good sour aroma to it. Like all of Stones brews, not your typical IPA. I like the strong Belgian notes with some hints of wheat and fruit. jmgreenuk (9985) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - OCT 12, 2013
