Dark color, almost black, with small compact head. Aroma of cocoa and dark malt. Good body structure; nice malty flavor, on the dark side obviously, with chocolate; moderately sweet; but the presence of liquorice brings to mind the oxidization and spoils a bit the experience. Strong but balanced bitterness.
Very good beer as usual.
Bottle @ Summer Gathering, Ulfborg. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are rich hops, roast malt, chocolate, fruits, caramel and nuts. Nice dry finish and warming alcohol. mcberko (18434) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 12, 2012
22 oz. bottle, pours a dark brown / near-black with a medium beige head. Aroma is quite muddy, with lots of dank hops, mild roasted malt, wood, and toasted nuts. Flavour is incredibly rich, with loads of sweet caramel malt, offset by harsh bittering hops, wood and roasted malt. Not overly harmonious, but how can it be with the gimmick of 13 hops and 13 malts. Quite viscous / syrupy, with medium-to-high sweetness, finishing by some harsh bitter hops. Quite the brutal mess here, but it still is mildly enjoyable. No cohesion or harmony here - just brutality. chrisv10 (17937) - DENMARK - AUG 18, 2012

Bottle, 22oz, at TFODRBSG-12. A more or less clear one, dark brown in color and with a dense, light beige head. Roasted, chocolatey aroma with some spiced hints. Alcohol too, and some raisin notes. Quite pleasant, but a bit too much I think. The flavor is more balanced and pleasant, it’s warming on the palate, full-bodied and dryish, yet it’s quite sweet tasting. Roasted malts, chocolate notes, some raisins and a faint spiced hint. Lasting roasted, bitter, dry and warming finish. A beer well suited for an anniversary. 120818
