Bottle. Red brown color with a tan head. Caramel, orange peel, vanilla, bourbon and lemon drop candy aromas. Very sugary sweetness with an orange peel bitter finish. Heavy body with a sugary feel.

Z: kwiaty S: karmel, kwiaty, finisz lekka goryczka. Gdzie jest ten bourbon? Ciała mało. W ciemno bym strzelał, że to Imperialna IPA na słodko.

W zapachu mid i kwiatowość. W smaku karmel, ciała dosyć mocno brakuje, beczka też niewyczuwalna.

A rather musty scent for a BBA, none of the rich wafts Im accustomed to. With a minimal head and a robust black cherry crimson color, its visually appealing enough. The flavor lacks much depth overall, the bourbon oak nuances very thin in the middle. With faint shades of cherry wood, it finishes with a rusty copper taste. Definitely could have spent longer in the barrel. A rare disappointment from Stone, who crafted some of the memorable BBA of recent years.

Large bottle from local Alko, Viikki. This quite different brew reminds me of saying: If it doesnt challenge you, it doesnt change you. Fred Devito. Superb nose and lenght!

Pours a very dark copper color with a medium cream colored head that leaves some good lacing around the glass. The aroma is not as strong as I was expecting, there is some oak, vanilla, candy sugar, some pine, but overall not much hop presence. The flavor is quite similar to the aroma. The beer almost seems malt forward with very little hop presence and noticeable barrel oak flavor, vanilla, candy sugar, faint whisky. This beer, like many stone ales, has that unique Stone flavor that is very noticeable. The mouthfeel is medium and the drinkability is medium.

eduardovl (1388) - SWITZERLAND - MAR 16, 2017
330ml chalice from tap at Au Coin Mousse - Geneva. Pours a very dark amber color forming a medium and very creamy tan head with good retention and tons of spotty lacings formed and left in the glass. Nose is sweet and woody. Strong notes of caramel malts, wood and pine. Biscuity. Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of caramel malts, pine and grass. Notes of wood. In overall, dry and a bit piney. Medium to heavy body. Medium carbonation. Caramel and pine in the aftertaste. Great drinkability. Great Stone.

Bottle. Aroma still has loads of pine and malt. Subtle heat and wet oak. Hops are still in full effect, loads of bitterness. Still an aggressive overload but nice nonetheless.

Not a big fan of this. Aroma was thin. Weak stale bourbon and thin wet wood. Pour was a nice deep dark red with a few off white pieces of film for a head. Taste was pretty nasty. Very thin and hot with notes of cough syrup, hot caramel and strong bitter hops. The flavors clash and dont mix well with the terpentine and vanilla/wood finish. Mild carbonation. Yuck
