COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer is Stone Imperial Russian Stout, and it was aged for about a year in a used bourbon barrel. From that wooden cask, we were only able to keg up very little.

Bottle shared with koleminer20. As "Fyodor’s Classic." Vintage 2014. Aroma is bourbon, roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, booze, barrel. Appearance is black, light tan head, poured a touch thin. Taste is bourbon, barrel, roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, roasty and good. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, barrel roasted malt marshmallow aftertaste. Overall, I expected more but this is nice.

Pours a very dark brown, almost black with a tan head. Aroma is sweet, saddle, some vanilla and oak notes in the background. Taste is sweet, with vanilla, oak, leather, roasted malt notes. Sampled at a tasting. Pitch black pour, thin espresso head. Smells like bourbon, maple syrup, espresso, caramel and coconut. Tastes like bourbon, chocolate, cocoa, dark cherries, vanilla and coconut. Soft mouthfeel, medium carbonation.

Black color with brown head. Aroma has bourbon, fudge, chocolate, vanilla and toasted coconut, everything you would want from a bourbon barrel aged RIS. Taste starts slightly sweet with fudge and bourbon but the finish is dark, roasty and bitter. Medium-heavy body, smooth carbonation, a bit of alcohol warmth on the aftertaste. Really nice one, very well made, tasty and balanced.
