3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bam! Orange and lemon peel punch to the nostrils. Quite pungent citrus aroma, with a touch of yeast, obviously. First sip was a little surprising; this brew is a thinner body than I was expecting. Not weak and tenuous or anything, but I was expecting a thicker feel. After the citrus and yeast, the brew is grassy and floral. Make no mistake, this beer is Californian before Belgian. The only thing I wasn’t impressed with was the appearance. Decent head that recesses into a bit of lace, but the color is a real unassuming, light amber color. But you know, who cares, it’s a beer, not a mural. Delicious brew, and worth the price of the bomber. Nothing breathtaking, but tasty.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Copenhagen 19/2 2017. 33 cl can from Meny. Happy lil’ devil gulping beer on the can together with information that this beer should be regarded as the Evil Twin to the normal Stone IPA where this off-shot was raised in Belgium (nort exactly considered to be IPA-heartland) . Pours slightly hazy golden yellow with white head. Settles as fine thin layer of foam. No lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel, fermented fruit, light fruity tartness reminding me of gooseberries and currant. Soft carbonation and medium thick palate. Flavor is medium sweet followed by medium to heavy bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingering. Dry finish. More a Belgian than IPA but certainly drinkable when you get around this fact.

Finally the illustrous Stone IPA. Very good one, maybe not the best but well above average. An evolving bitterness makes it strange and wonderful.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
IPA from a can, 33cl from Geers. Pours perfect golden and clear. Low almost flat carbonation. Nose of ’stone’ fruit and ripe fruit. Not super hoppy. Palate is very soft with a long nice bitter finish. Not sure about the yeast contribution but I’ll compare with the regular Stone IPA later.

Nicely mixed taste, soft maltiness, caramel, bubblegum, sweetish banana, phenols on peppery bitterness going to a long herbal aftertaste. Dryyyy. Very interesting stuff.

330 ml can. Pours a clear dark golden with a white head. Lightly yeasty aroma, sweetish fruity, pear, banana, some hoppiness. Medium to full body with a mild carbonation, a light sweetness and a medium bitterness. The taste is medium malty (mild caramel) and hoppy - mainly bitter hops, some faint notes of ripe fruits.
