When reading the name “Stone Cali-Belgique IPA”, “Cali” hints that it is a California style IPA, and this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “Belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch speaking Belgians say “Belgie”). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA.

The result is both completely new and different, while still being recognizable as a Stone Brew – and Stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally.

from a 22 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow. Aroma is more hoppy but belgian is definitely there. Taste is smooth like a Belgian but with a slightly bitter hop taste. A good mix. Pretty nice beer.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2017 0,33l Dose. Goldenes Bier mit kleiner Schaumkrone. Fruchtiger Geruch nach Hefe, schmeckt malzig, leicht süßlich mit bitteren Abgang.

Bottled. A honey-gold colour with a small off-white head and a slight haze. Aromas of yeast, bubblegum, and pear drops. A combination of very dry hops with cloves and bananas. Definitely cali-belgique! A sweet start then dry and bitter. Warmth from alcohol, clean flavours, and very powerful bitterness.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2017 Can from Beer Hawk. Hazy ginger with white foamy head. Light, fruit aroma. Crisp and refreshing and yes, hoppy, grassy with Belgian wheaty/yeasty taste. Delicious.

Pours golden yellow with a thin white head and good lacing. Aroma is intruiging blend of Belgian yeast and IPA tropical hops. Aroma is pineapple, apricot, lime, mamelae, banana, cloves, light caramel and straw. Taste is sweet with a nice bitter and good length finish. Lovely stuff.

It's a good, rather normal tasting, IPA. Not much out of the ordinary but I liked it.

14/20 an ipa brewed with belgium yeast and it has the banana taste coming through. works quite well, masks the bitterness of stone ipa a bit

Brakuje w nim trochę pełni i większej goryczki.

bizarre approach, but one that pays off. creamy and heavy with yeast flavours like a lot of lighter belgian offerings, and coupled with explosive IPA hop flavours, much like, as it says in the description, stone's famous namesake IPA. very similar in idea i think, to brewdog's electric india, but this tastes a lot stronger.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2017 Very bitter, duvel-style. I miss a bit of the fruit some other comments are referring to.
