Dark amber. Light aroma for an ESB; not much bitter either. It was OK, but not great. FROTHINGSLOSH (7879) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 3, 2011
From Matt at 3R6P. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy orange-amber color with a small tan head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was tart and bitter fruity hops. The flavor was crisp bitter fruity and floral hops with light notes of caramel and nut underneath. The finish was medium length with caramel and floral hops lingering. Medium body. Drinks better than the sum of it’s parts. empirestout (13) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - MAR 1, 2011
Pours a dark copper color, slightly hazy. Floral hops evident in the aroma. Good head retention with beautiful lacing along the walls of the glass. Medium bodied with a complex but not overpowering bitterness. Just enough malt character to balance the plentiful hops. It resembles an IPA, but much less aggressive. More like an "American Style ESB", less British. Overall a very drinkable and enjoyable beer. propsync (33) - Wisconsin, USA - FEB 7, 2011
Darker amber in color, slight floral smell. Sediment. I can’t figure out what it wants to be. On one hand it has the hop taste of an IPA and finishes like a brown ale. Eh. Jkripp (141) - Washington, USA - FEB 3, 2011
This Extra Special Bitter is an unfiltered copper color. The flavor is balanced well with a light malty flavor and finished with a bitter hops.

brown copper pour with a thin offwhite head. aroma is nice mild malt character, some hoppiness, mostly bitter but grassy notes linger as well. Flavor is light, mild maltiness with a bit of cracker and some bitter herbal on the finish. Not bad but a little over hopped for my liking. Very drinkable though. puboflyons (3438) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 19, 2010
It pours a rather hazy orange-copper with a thick, foamy beige head. The aroma exhibits a malty sweetness and a rich floral hoppiness. The taste tends to be too hoppy for my preference in an ESB. Sure, I like hops but this is borderline IPA. The body is oily and creamy. jcwattsrugger (12427) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUN 23, 2009
12oz bottle-pours a rich to rocky off white head and copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel, secondary earthy/citrus hops. Taste is sweet medium malt-caramel, secondary earthy/herbal hops, leaning towards licorice. yobdoog (1888) - Kingston, New York, USA - APR 22, 2009
A little on the bitter side. Has some caramel malts and some wet dog cardboard taste too. ben4321 (6535) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAR 23, 2009

Amber color and kind of sweet caramel flavor. Not exactly what you expect from an ESB, but tasty, not particularly bitter.
