May 20, 2016 - at Bar Hop (King) - on draught. Hazy pale gold with a lasting creamy coating/lacy white head. Noble hop bitterness - yeasty and sweet, not much fruit or spice. Taste is decent - floral/grassy and yeasty - more a lager to me than a wit, but an okay one. Chewy, astringent, pretty long grassy finish; maybe off style a a fun one to drink.

pushkinwow (2984) - Ottawa, CANADA - JUL 11, 2017
On tap at Brothers Beer Bistro. Somewhat hazy straw pour with a frothy and clinging white head. Dry, wheat, bit of yeast, coriander, white pepper, moderate body and carbonation.

WillemsUrenkel (2141) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - JUL 1, 2017
0,5 l bottle bought at the brewery. Unclear pale golden n the glass, one finger white head. Some coriander and a little bit musty on the nose. Taste is more grainy, malty, wheat, increasing low bitterness in the middle part. A little bit orange and some coriander in the background. Okay.

From tap. Pours hazy pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild spiced and slight herbal. Mild citrusy and slight estery fruity. Medium dry. Estery and vague spiced finish.

Shared by my cousin at Volo. Stone City Windward cloudy gold with wheat and celery salt aroma. Light bodied with a soft mouthfeel. The taste is wheat and mild bready spices. Nice 3,4

Eructoblaster (4549) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 19, 2016
On tap at Brothers Beer Bistro (Ottawa, ON). Slightly hazy, blond body with an average, lasting, white foamy head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with herbal and citrusy hints. Taste is slightly dominated by hoppy flavors. It carries coriander and grainy notes. Ends with a sharp, dry, bitter/herbal finish. Enjoyable, a bit out of the beaten path.

probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 24, 2016
Bomber from the brewery via Scott (thanks!), served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Hazy/cloudy golden with a nice bright white head. Aroma: Bubble gum esters, sweet honey-like malt, quite fruity with stone fruits front and centre, some bread dough and yeast, not getting much in the way of phenolics or citrus/coriander. Palate: Medium to medium+ body, moderate carbonation. Flav.: Richly malty, cinnamon, fruity esters, tastes like a nice spice cake, sweet, still doesn’t have the coriander/citrus that one would expect; lightly to moderately sweet with low bitterness and an affable, sweet, pleasant malt character.

I don’t consider this a good Wit, but I do enjoy it. More of a Belgian single, perhaps?

czar (9794) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 13, 2016
on tap at union 613, ottawa. hazy very pale golden pour with a small white cap offering minimal retention and lacing. very crispy wheat, peppery grains, potent citrus, their peel, very low on curacao if any, clean belgian yeast. moderately high carbonation, light body - slightly watery; dry and crisp herbal-citrusy finish. simple but not linear. a nice floral citrusy wheat w/o some potentially irritating phenolic molecules, which is nice sometimes. enjoyed!

sudomorph (1210) - Barrie, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 25, 2016
Cask at Barvolo. With cherries Pours an opaque peach/pink with a half finger of off white head. Aroma has notes of Belgian yeast, wheat, slight cherry, faint bubble gum, and a hint of candy sugar. Taste is balanced very well. Very mildly tart with medium cherries, wheat, Belgian yeast, and a short ending. Low-medium body with a cask carbonation. Clean and refreshing in the mouth with a dry finish. Overall really nice. Very drinkable with smooth tart cherries, wheat, and a slight candy sugar.

lesifflebiere (1928) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 7, 2016
