I knew this beer was supposed to be trash when I bought the bottle for $1.50 at my local trash rip and run booze proveyor. pours brown amber, minimal head. nose is all the barrel treatment... oak. taste has some light oak, bourbon, toasted malt, then turns to pepper heat that lingers. frankly, the beer is not good, but Its not as bad as advertised. Perhaps it is entering its sweet spot? I guess but who cares? I sure as hell dont. next!

Hazy dark Amber with a stupendous nose of Barleywine esque tones of cherry, caramalt, date, and boozy bready tones. Crisp and delightful flavor featuring boozy caramalt, nuttiness, stone fruits and berries, and a very light Serrano pepper nuance to make it fun. Really delightful and tasty Barleywine.

500 ml bottle from Hawthorne Cellars. Pours dark brown with small tan head. Aroma is malty, sweet barleywine with bourbon, a good start. Upfront the flavours match with a malty, slightly sweet barleywine that is immediately followed by extreme spiciness from the peppers. The heat is overwhelming and immediately overpowers everything else about the beer. I love all things spicy and the combination of sweet and spicy, but Stone really went too far with the chiles on this beer and the heat detracts from it. Could have been a nice, unique combination with the right balance, but unfortunately balance was not achieved. Not recommended. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Taphouse. A bit hazy light amber with a white head. Aroma and taste dominated by strong chili. Also malt and some herbs. A bit too much burning chili.

Dark reddish mid-brown color with a small off-white head. Sweetness, strong malt, wood and mild chili. Chili is only a nuance. Barley Winey. Tasty.

[email protected], Copenhagen (Stone TTO 27/11/2016) - pours hazy amber orange with a beige head. Aroma and taste is overt chilli spice and sweet malty notes, lots of spice and black pepper notes, brown sugar, oaky wooden nuance, love chilli but this is abit overkill for my palate.
