Pours cloudy red brown with no head. Smells like Double Bastard but with a good bit of earth and just a hint of pepper. Tastes crazy, they really dosed this with the peppers. Caramel sweetness right up front with huge, firey pepper flavors after that. Lingering fire and oxidized malts and hops. Full body, light carbonation.

Sorry, this is double bastard without oak and chipotle but it was the only one that was 11.2%. Aroma: Big caramel, toffee. Almost barley wine aroma. Pretty strong.
Appearance: Hazy with particles, head is thick and dense, sticking to glass.
Taste: Again caramel is very strong but hops are showing up at the end of the process. very syrupy texture, like a barley wine. Hops are herbal and resinous. On tap at Urge. Fiery brew with burnt tangerine, orange, and crimson in the body and a razor thin eggshell head. Caramel, brown sugar, toffee, molasses, and smoky chipotle in the aroma. Flavor is all hot alcohol, with hints of the above mentioned. Do get a bit of heat from the capsiason. Was hoping for so much more.

Had it back this spring at Raleigh Times for the most arrogant bar in the nation celebration. This beer was one of the many rarities flow across the country just for us and I consider myself a very lucky person for having the opportunity to try something this bold. This beer spoiled me. From notes: tap pour into snifter. Color is classic Double Bastard. The nose doesn’t fully reveal the presence of the underlying heat that’s about to hit. First taste is quick to show the difference between this and the usual Double. A wave of heat rides in on the finish, making me instantly forget how balanced this is between malt sweetness and hop bitterness. The hops hide the heat at first, then accentuate it on the finish. Strong caramel with chewing gum stickiness lingers on the palate. After 10 sips, the smoke from chipotle is evident. Funny enough, my lips are sticking to the glass. On tap. Pours deep amber with a small off white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, plenty of hops, a sharp fruitiness and a bit of a spice kick from the peppers though its more earthy and fruity. Flavor starts similar to regular double bastard, its pretty similar until the back of the mouth and finish when it picks up a crisp pepper note, a bit hot but nothing too crazy, just tingling. Gedronken in Brussel bij moeder Lambic, bruin, helder, IPA geur, niet zo heel speciaal, maar het heeft wel een pittige smaak wat het speciaal maakt!
