Poured from a can. Good high ABV beer. Sweet start with a smoky finish. Porterish at the end. Low carbonation. Would drink again but wouldn't purchase a case.

Bottle thanks to Evil Jason. Dark brown in color with a small tan head. The aroma has roast, oak, sherry, chocolate, molasses. Flavor has slight oxidative notes, fairly sweet, somewhat oaky, good but a little muddled. Slick on the feel, fairly full, carbonation medium-low. Decent. rollinsr (827) - Atlanta, GEORGIA - JAN 24, 2017

Can from Capone’s. Pours turbid black with frothy, tan head. Nose was dark malt, molasses, nuts, oak. Tastes rich, complex, with heavy dark malt, dark choc, oak, molasses, rich finish. Delicious. slowrunner77 (13184) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 24, 2014
"Here’s a beer that the oak aging really did a number on the base, and in a very good way. I liked the black ale, but thought it a little rough around the edges and sweet. The oak toned those thing down while maintaining everything that was good in the original. Really liked this!"

The beer is near black with a small tan head. The aroma offers roast, pine, chocolate, oak. Wood flavors emerge more in the flavor. Nicely balanced. Chocolate notes and a pine finish. Notes of vanilla emerge as the beer opens up. A touch of molasses. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A solid beer. I would have this again.
