Really nice RIS where the coffee plays its part very well. Sweet is balanced with bitterness.
WillRunForBeer (2626) - Massachusetts, USA - MAY 19, 2017
Draft at Aces. 2013 vintage. Pours nearly black with a beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate, toffee, coffee. Flavor follows. Creamy, full mouthfeel with dark chocolate, dark coffee. This tastes fresh. Held up well! gephross100 (943) - Bellaire, Texas, USA - MAY 7, 2017

Sweet coffee, dark, intense roast, dark chocolate, pralines, dark, toasted malts. Dark brown, small, creamy, beige head. Medium sweet. More intense coffee, chocolate, dark toasted malts, cacao, light alcohol, soft carbonation, full bodied. Superb Impy, great aroma and palate, very intense and rich. 2013 version on tap at Stone Berlin. Pours black with creamy head disappearing fast. Aroma: a clear espresso kick coupled with roasted malts and a little bit of pleasant coffee sourness. Taste: nice roasty taste with some coffee and a good bitter palate. The coffee is pretty dominating but it is a fantastic tasty RIS.

Bottle pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is smoky and ashy with a nice coffee note, some chocolate, some anise. Flavor is slightly sweet, good coffee, some bitterness, some anise. Full bodied and slick feel. Pretty good. mikeyo1 (816) - Linköping, SWEDEN - FEB 11, 2017
Bottle @ home. Cellared for 3,5 years. Pours a black liquid with a tan to brown head. Aroma is richly roasted with coffee, licorice, vanilla, dark chocolate, red fruits, dark bread, dates. Some tobacco, resinous plums, pears/cognac and soy sauce in background. Body is big, carbonation low with a fantastic mouth feel that starts out with rich dark chocolate, roasted malts, licorice, vanilla and dark fruits. Together in a smooth but roasted palate that lasts for several seconds than nicely transcends into an increasing coffee and espresso sensation that lasts throughout the roasted aftertaste. Aftertaste also has slightly vinous dark fruits, dark syrup, ash and dark chocolate lingering Nische (2196) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 17, 2016
Bottle from Systembolaget, cellared for a year or two. Pitch black with tan head, leaves quite a bit of lacing. Aroma of vanilla, ground coffee, red berries, a bit of roast. Taste is similar with quite a bit of sweetness. Roasted, coffee finish. klm1 (1501) - Bled/SF, - NOV 19, 2016
UPDATED: MAR 25, 2017 From 0,65l bottle: pours black color, clear, with tiny unstable brown foamy head, which immediately transforms itself to a ring around the glass. Aroma: rich roasted and dark malts aroma, supoorted with note of coffee. Flavor: rich dark, roasted malts, which takes on gentle roasted, coffee beans, bitter dark chocolate, supported with coffee note and dark fruits esters. Evident Stone RIS backbone, with dry, slighztly roasted-dry-bitter finish, thick body, smooth texture and low carbo. The fresh one would be much better. This beer is for sure not proper for aging. Pitch black. Roasted malt, bitter coffee. Bitter coffee, roasted coffee beans, espresso, blanced by a rich roasted malt base and chocolate tastes. Lingering bitter coffee finish. Awesome coffe based Imperial Stout.
