22oz bottle: pours an oily opaque with a stringy-lacing beige head. Has a sweet dark caramel and espresso roasted aroma. Starts with good rich chewy sweetness with some dark chocolate and a good amount of espresso. Finishes slightly drier and bittersweet with some lingering coffee and dark chocolate. True to style, complex and enjoyable.
From tap at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, Berlin, vintage 2013. Nearly black, dark red-brown color with a tan head. The aroma is very malty, toffee, milk chocolate, coffee, some noticeable alcohol, slightly medicinal, umami. Full body with a medium sweetness and a light bitterness - very balanced. The flavor is full of roasted malt with chocolate, coffee, caramel, toffee, nuts. Bitter, roasty finish and overall very balanced.

(Bottle) Black colour with brief, frothy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of espresso, dark chocolate, cacao, black rye bread and raisins. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, espresso, dark chocolate, black rye bread, liquorice, raisins in brandy and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Full body, with a certain sweetness shining through. Fairly straightforward, but tasty, well made and solid with lots of black coffee and dark chocolate. Vom Fass (Version 2013) im Stone Brewing Berlin 2017-04 getrunken. Aus der Imperial Russian Stout Reihe gab ja schon einige Version ins Glas, doch dieses wirkt unstimmig. Denn ja hier sind die Mokkanorten deutlich anwesen. Leider ZU deutlich so das dieses Stout eine deutliche Bitterkeit durch die Röststoffe erhalten hat. Draft at Aces. 2013 vintage. Pours nearly black with a beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate, toffee, coffee. Flavor follows. Creamy, full mouthfeel with dark chocolate, dark coffee. This tastes fresh. Held up well!

2013 version on tap at Stone Berlin. Pours black with creamy head disappearing fast. Aroma: a clear espresso kick coupled with roasted malts and a little bit of pleasant coffee sourness. Bottle @ home. Cellared for 3,5 years. Pours a black liquid with a tan to brown head. Aroma is richly roasted with coffee, licorice, vanilla, dark chocolate, red fruits, dark bread, dates. Some tobacco, resinous plums, pears/cognac and soy sauce in background. Body is big, carbonation low with a fantastic mouth feel that starts out with rich dark chocolate, roasted malts, licorice, vanilla and dark fruits. Together in a smooth but roasted palate that lasts for several seconds than nicely transcends into an increasing coffee and espresso sensation that lasts throughout the roasted aftertaste. Aftertaste also has slightly vinous dark fruits, dark syrup, ash and dark chocolate lingering
