Bottle from Craftissimo. Drank w Matt at home on Xmas eve 2016. Pours an opaque brown-black with a thick creamy tan head that dissipates. Smells of spicy dark malt, moderate grassy bitterness, nutty, some wood and breadiness, bourbon, lots of booze, tiny bit of soy sauce and smoke. Taste is heavy acidic dark roast malt, moderate chocolate, moderate to heavy bitterness, sweet and herbal and a bit acidic. Body is medium to thick, oily, slightly sticky/chewy, low carbonation, somewhat sharper sweetish finish. Huge beer, lots of booze and spice, good though a little too sharp.

HKdIPA (734) - HONG KONG - DEC 24, 2016
Bottle from Craftissimo at home on Christmas Eve. Pitch black pour with dense and short lived tan head. Aroma is rich vanilla and oak, dark roasted fruit, chocolate, little bit licorice. Taste is huge booze and roasted malt bomb. Vanilla and some faint nuttiness definitely present. Sharp bitterness followed by dark fruit and nut and boozy vanilla bitter finish. Silky rich but not heavy palate. Huge beer. Way better than expected.

Pours a pitch black oily black with a thin dark creme colored head. Aroma is strong, chocolate, cream, anise, coffee, plums, bourbon, vanilla and oak. Taste is a bit funky. Starts as chocolate and coffee, when it changes to anise, plums, and raisins in the middle it gets bit funky before finishing with a huge amount of oak and slight vanilla. Really good beer, very boozy but good.

Pours a pitch black with a thick creamy head of brown foam. Medium carbonation with lots of lacing. Aroma of sweet toffee with some roasted malts. Smooth creamy texture with a full mouth feel. Taste is more of a sweet dark chocolate than a roasted malt flavor. Smooth finish with a lingering aftertaste. Not harsh but boozy sweet. The sweetness masks the alcohol but also the malty taste. A tad bit too sweet for my liking. Not bad, just not my style.

Black, oily, minimal brown head. Aroma isnt amazing, just sour dark fruit and roasted malts, very mild. Taste gets better, with dark malts, dark fruits, vanilla, booze, wood, whiskey and some notes of chocolate. Smooth, quaffable, good, but expected much better.

Pours black with a caramel colored head. Not much head on this. Aroma is of malts, figs, bourbon, oak, dark fruit, black licorice, and chocolate. Sweeter and heavy palate. Flavor is of dark fruits, a little oak, some booze, malt, some nuttiness, and chocolate. Leaves a chocolaty fig malt finish. Its actually pretty smooth for 13%. Id love to age a couple of these babies for a year or two.

Tap, Redhot Munich. Black, creamy brown head. Light mealy roast and licorice nose. Creamy medium full body, coffee roast, oatmeal, sweet licorice root, a hint soy, licorice finish. Dangerously drinkable

Black color with mocha head. Aroma has sticky malt and caramel with some raspberry syrup on top. Taste has also nice chocolate cake flavors, some bourbon, bitter dark chocolate on the finish. Heavy body, lower carbonation, just right for the style. Overall its a really well balanced and easy to drink imperial stout with a very well hidden ABV.
