On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and viscously dispensed to a snifter showing a black/brown hue, with a bit of ruby glow, a fingers width of deep tan foam, ribbony cling to the lacing, and a syrupy, leggy coating on the glass. Basically the kitchen sink, the nose was roasted, cocoa, sweetness of caramel, toffee, and molasses, soft grain & nuttiness, barrel induced vanilla, and lurking, bourbony alcohol. Ditto on the flavor, the body was full, thick, and sticky textured, with unusually amped carbonation for the style & occasion, booze & warmth, roasted & earthy bitterness, and a little tartness & tanginess that worked well with the effervescence. A slow savoring treat!

Finished off my last bottle of the 2013 bottles Ive squirreled away in my cellar for so long. Silky dark liquid manna, with the aroma and finish of the bourbon barrels it was created in, simply awesome.

Shared 22 oz. bottle. Pours almost black with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, oak and bourbon. Taste follows nose, with additional nut, vanilla, chocolate, and leather flavors. Finishes a little sweet and alcoholic with a burnt bitterness.

Aroma: chocolatey and roasty; Appearance: pitch black with tan head that dissipates slowly; Taste: follows nose with odd, distinctive note thats difficult to place; perhaps the wheat malt? Palate: heavy body with long, strange finish; Overall: gets a little better as it warms but still not my thing. Would not get again.

Chucks 85th, Seattle. 2016 edition. Dissipating tall foam, warm nose, red fruit, wine grapes, marzipan. Rich syrup, low carb (but this did kill the keg, so cant say for sure), rich dark red fruits. Spicy alcohol component. Creamy and heavy, quite sweet, but cut a touch by the alc burn. Interesting, tasty and quite heavy. Happy with a small glass.

A really nice imperial stout. Lots of chocolate and licorice. A slick mouthfeel, lightly bitter finish. Tried at Omahas Extreme Beerfest with Jess and the parents in 2017.

On tap at hopaholic. Pitch black colour small brown head disappears almost immediately. Nose is whiskey, with a tad bit of sourness. Taste is medium sweetness, strog whiskey notes. light coffee maybe? Smooth mouthfeel hidden alcohol. Not as strong whiskey taste as the nose suggest. Nice nontheless.
