wedgie9 (2702) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 1, 2013
Tasted on 10/1/13 from a 650mL bomber bottle purchased at Main Street Liquors in Nashville. Pours a completely opaque, nearly black with an average, but very dense tan brown head that leaves fairly thick lace. The nose is very dark and roasted, dominated by molasses, coffee, and burnt brown sugar, with caramel, toffee, a nutty aroma, and creamy vanilla all underlying. The flavor is the same, super creamy coffee, caramel, toffee, and vanilla up front, with all of the burnt molasses, brown sugar, and nutty note all on the back of the palate. The body is massively full with lighter, but still stinging carbonation, and a super long vanilla, toffee, creamy coffee, molasses, and burnt brown sugar finish. It is worth noting that throughout, this beer is extremely dry, with almost no sweetness whatsoever.

Black with a deep head. Chocolate, roasted malt, booze, light bourbon, molasses. Light nuts and a little spice. Full bodied. Powerful. Tasty.

Verision 4.0. Pitch black, thick pour, big fluffy tan head, some spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, bourbon-like vanilla and wood. Very smooth and creamy to the lips, well balanced between sweet and bitter, roasted malts, chocolate fudge, bourbon, wood. Lingering flavours, booze just appears in the end. Thick body, sticky, smooth, low carbonation and long finish. Great ale.

Pours a dark brown, with a tan head. Aroma of malt, whiskey, and pecans. Taste is slightly sweet, notes of rich malts, wood, and whiskey. Drinks smooth, and is a very unique and solid stout. Thumbs up.

From the bomber: DARK chocolate brown with dark tan suds, elephant about an inch, settling after a couple minutes. Aromas of dark, syrupy fruit, espresso, whiskey, a touch of smoke, vanilla. It's sweet and syrupy, but not cloying (at least to me). Tastes of bittersweet chocolate, raisin, some pecan like bitterness, bourbon. YUMMY stout.

Tap, ADT. Pours very dark brown, nearly black, with reddish edges and a frothy, tan head. Light coffee aroma, dark malt, bourbon and barrels. Full bodied, roasted warming finish. Overall a chewy, nutty, chocolaty Imperial Stout. Holds the 13% pretty well.

Nice dark black color. Light wheat and rye flavor up front gives way to hint of bourbon and maltiness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

[email protected] hki. Black. Roasted malty nose, heavy, condensed, some coffee there. Full bodied, quite smooth, intense. Very dark chocolate, coffee beans, dry dark syrupyness. All messed together. Not too drinkable, just massive.

Strong smell of pecans isn't reflected so much in the taste, which is pretty heavy on the alcohol alongside some molasses and caramel. Nevertheless, very warming and rich.
