On tap at Stone Company Store in Oceanside. Deep black with mahogany edges and a light ring of lacing. Nice aroma of smoked pecan, chocolate malt and anise. Robust flavor of chocolate, smoke, licorice and the pecan shows through a bit. Warming character of alcohol and oak that shows off the minor Bourbon influence. Ass-kicker of a beer at the ABV

Bottle; pours black with a brown head; aroma of chocolate, molasses, dark fruits, and hints of wood and vanilla; taste is bittersweet with chocolate, dark fruits, molasses, vanilla, and hints of wood and nuts; finish is dry, light bitter with some lingering chocolate and a little alcohol warming

Pours dark black with a lasting dark brown lacing. Virtually no bourbon on the front or alcohol @ 13%. Very smooth and balanced. Done right

An imperial stout without the extreme flavors or presence of alcohol. Smooth for a 13%-er. Much smoother say, than The Abyss (no knock,as I’m an Abyss fan). If sipped (and to do otherwise would be...weird) this one provides its own 1.5 hour session of 22 oz. of near-heaven. Malty, minimal hop presence.

2017 bomber, $9.49 from Wine Warehouse. Almost feels wrong to be enjoying a beer today, but I have to take my mind off of the insanity that’s happening right here in my city. Pours thick and black with half inch of dark brown head. Aroma is slightly boozy chocolate, a little smoked peat, cookie, vanilla. Flavor is sweet chocolate - reminds me of a chocolate chip cookie, bourbon, vanilla, caramel, a little nuttiness.

Bomber, 5.0 2017 release. Rich roasted malt aroma with notes of bitter chocolate, rye, vanilla pecan nuttiness and bourbon. Pours inky, deep brown colored with a thin light brown head that very little retention and no lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt and bitter chocolate flavors with notes of rye malt and a nice, full body and viscous mouthfeel. Finishes extremely smooth with notes of bourbon and vanilla with nutty pecan flavors coating the palate at the very end. Absolutely delightful!

From a bottle poured a thick dark brown color with a small amount of head. Syrupy sweet malty flavor with a lingering aftertaste.

Bomber brought to my birthday party by George. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a small, tan head. The nose is vanilla, bittersweet chocolate, walnuts, old leather, and syrup. Sweet and roasty, with a pretty significant bitterness that isn’t too unpleasant. Heavy body, creamy and thick, with a bit of a sharp bite in the finish. This is a fun, complex, and interesting stout. Nice.

Tap at gravity. Near black with small head. Chocolate, roasted pecan, light berry. Plenty of bourbon. Slightly messy, but plenty to like here.
