COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s no secret we helped create and popularize West Coast style IPAs (since 1997), Double IPAs (since 2000) & Triple IPAs (since 2006). In fact, IPAs of every ilk imaginable are our bread and (hop) butter at Stone Brewing Co., but we’ll be the first to admit that a night of subsisting solely on big IPAs can be a short one. Enter Stone Go To IPA, our session IPA, boasting all the gloriously bitter, citrusy, piney flavor of our bigger / industrial-strength IPAs, but with a significantly lower alcohol-by-volume (4.5%) allowing IPA fans like us to enjoy more of this amazingly, hoppy beer over a longer session, without giving up any of that gloriously crave-able botanically-driven dankness. Well, OK, when you compare to our bigger IPAs you find that you give up some, as that’s what happens when you dramatically lower the abv. And while we work hard to bend the time/space/abv intensity continuum, we’ve admittedly not yet learned to break it. This comes damn close though.

tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - MAR 22, 2014
UPDATED: OCT 30, 2014 Bottle: Bright gold with slight amber-orange tints, great clarity & topped with a chunky white head that sinks to a foamy collar leaving sticky lacing behind. Aroma is surprisingly powerful & very nice! Lots of dripping wet, pungent grapefruit-y & citric notes, wet hops, pine, mild dankness, grass, & some gushing passion fruit. Taste is a touch watery, but still has plenty of flavor... Grass, citrus flesh, mild green onion, cracker malts, pine, a hint of bitterness, a touch of tropical fruit, leading to a relatively dry finish. Crisp mouth feel, very light. I was quite surprised by this, but I shouldn’t be, as Stone usually makes solid hoppy beers. Very tasty session IPA... the only thing keeping this from actually being a "go-to" for me is the price.

Pale gold, slightly hazy with a thick, persistent white head. Orange/pine, big passionfruit and citrus aromas. Taste is bitter, lots of citrus, caramel, tiny bit of sweetness, mild bitter finish. Pretty good

Aroma: Grapefruit and herbs. Appearance: Gold color with hazy sparkling liquid and rocky white head. Taste: Heavy bitterness. Palate: Medium body with thin texture and soft carbonation. Long bitter memory. Overall: Less sour than other beers of the kind. Leaves a long memory. Very bitter and pleasant but it lacks a heavier sourness.

anstei (2246) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - JUL 15, 2017
UPDATED: JUL 15, 2017 Can (Berlin) from a Prisma in Finland. Pours almost clear golden with a big head. Aroma is rich tropical fruit, mango, litchi, passion fruit. Body is light, very bitter, with a thin backbone, almost no sweetness. Rather soft texture and carbonation, with very little flavours remaining. Dry palate with a lasting bitterness. Really impressive nose, but afterwards too bitter that I would consider this my go to IPA.

Can from Asda, Farnborough. Floral and herbal aroma. Light gold. Thick bubbly head. Medium bitter. Lurking umami. Juicy citrus, but restrained. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft but light carbonation. Abrupt finish. Super drinkable. Doesn’t overdo things. Could certainly session a few of these.

Can. Hazy orange color. Very little aroma. Taste is of malt, fruits, citrus hops and just lots of citrussy flavours in general. Medium body and high carbonation. Long bitter finish. Very good.

Anaranjada, turbia de no demasiada espuma. Aroma muy intenso, muy lupulado. Mucho pino, predominante, resina. En boca punto perfecto de gas, y todo se llena de sabor, ahora con predominio cítrico y resinoso, e intensas notas de pino. Seca y bastante amarga, pero muy agradable y bebible. Excelente IPA de sesión.

Slightly hazy yellowish. As usual, wet socks plus citruses in aroma. Taste of grapefruit and hops. Quite long bitter aftertaste. Good.

Hazy golden beer, white head. Light lemon smell. Flavour is lemon, dry hop, grass, some piney resin which lingers into the aftertaste. Has a bit of a floral air to it. Quite a bit going on for a sessionable beer. Very pleasant.

330ml can (Koht, Tallinn) Berlin plant (7:3:7:4:13=3.3)
Sweet caramelly, toffeeish malt , fruity hops. Pale orange, small head. Nice fatty bitter taste, some caramelly malts, metallic hoppy bite coats the teeth. Grapefruity and fatty finish, nice west coast feel. Good strength/character balance. One of the better stones recently, such crispness and bite.
