COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Its no secret we helped create and popularize West Coast style IPAs (since 1997), Double IPAs (since 2000) & Triple IPAs (since 2006). In fact, IPAs of every ilk imaginable are our bread and (hop) butter at Stone Brewing Co., but well be the first to admit that a night of subsisting solely on big IPAs can be a short one. Enter Stone Go To IPA, our session IPA, boasting all the gloriously bitter, citrusy, piney flavor of our bigger / industrial-strength IPAs, but with a significantly lower alcohol-by-volume (4.5%) allowing IPA fans like us to enjoy more of this amazingly, hoppy beer over a longer session, without giving up any of that gloriously crave-able botanically-driven dankness. Well, OK, when you compare to our bigger IPAs you find that you give up some, as thats what happens when you dramatically lower the abv. And while we work hard to bend the time/space/abv intensity continuum, weve admittedly not yet learned to break it. This comes damn close though.

Near gold pour with a 1 finger, creamy to soapy white head that has good retention and leaves a little lacing. Aroma is loaded with tangerine citrus, tropical fruit, pineapple and passion fruit heavy, a little lemon and hints of biscuit. Flavor is biscuit and tree fruit esters up front, then some nice citrus zest, tropical fruit, fruity and floral hops, with a nice crisp minerality and a pretty big dose of hop acids to the finish. Light body, creamy to dusty feel, with that hop acid twang kicking in toward the crisp, dry finish. Really good stuff, lots of tasty hop aroma and flavor in a clean, easy going package.

Stone Berlin, Germany. Pours hazy yellow, with a lot of yeast pieces and big head, but quickly disappearing. Whats interesting, there is also no carbonation visible in the glass, like a dead beer, but in taste there is strong fizziness, like in some popular soft drink. Aroma is metallic, citrus, juicy and... something that smells like old coat, or not washed trousers. Taste is refreshing, citrus, lemon or orange zest, apple, grapefruit... and also something that taste like iron, artificial like aromas, weird. I wish to try original American brew to check the differences between German version, but it was indeed not impress me, taste like some cheap imitation of Session IPA, but at least its refreshing.

Kolor jasnozloty, przejrzysty. Piana drobna, długo utrzymujacy się. Aromat wyrazisty, nie do końca przyjemny, nic specjalnego. W smaku mocna gorycz, chmielowa, owocowa. Po niej zostaje posmak owocowy, długo utrzymujący sie. Generalnie nic wielkiego, ale wypić można.

Aroma - Really nice hop aroma, tropical, citrus, pineapple, reminds me of a tropical fruit punch. Appearance - Pours golden with a slight haze, nice solid white head. Taste - Mainly hop flavours with orange, lemon a hint of pineapple and a pine bitter aftertaste that balances out the initial citrus hit. Palate - Light body with a dry finish that goes down easy. Overall - A good session IPA (abv:4.8%) with tons of hop flavour and aroma that doesnt overwhelm you with bitterness

Big hop flavor and nothing else, which seems to have become my Go To complaint for Session IPAs in general. Bitter, piney and resinous with a mild citric undertone, yet no malt to give it depth, no yeasty esters of boozy warmth, nothing but hops. Dont understand the style; you can drink a lot of shitty IPA, or a smaller amount of really good IPA. Seems like a no-brainer.

355ml bottle. Pours a pale straw gold with a frothy white head. Aroma: citrus, grapefruit aromas coupled with mild tropical notes. Taste: Citrus flavours dominate, coupled with mild pine and malt flavours. Mildly resinous in texture. Moderate carbonation. Bitterness lingers on the palate and dominates the aftertaste. Quite tasty but not overly complex in flavour.

Some citrus and tropical fruits in the aroma. Clear yellow color with a white head. Medium to light bodied with a very dry and bitter finish. A good but not exeptional session IPA.

Can at home in garden, 23rd April 17. Pours straw coloured. Aroma is grapefruit, bitter and floral hops. Taste is bitter, floral, citrus, light pine, rereshing and delicious stuff, especially for the remarkable and extreme low ABV.

Can from Geers; Hazy yellow colour, nose of tropical fruit, flowers, bitter hops. Citrussy, lots of pine and sweetness. Bitter finish.
