Its no secret we helped create and popularize West Coast style IPAs (since 1997), Double IPAs (since 2000) & Triple IPAs (since 2006). In fact, IPAs of every ilk imaginable are our bread and (hop) butter at Stone Brewing Co., but well be the first to admit that a night of subsisting solely on big IPAs can be a short one. Enter Stone Go To IPA, our session IPA, boasting all the gloriously bitter, citrusy, piney flavor of our bigger / industrial-strength IPAs, but with a significantly lower alcohol-by-volume (4.5%) allowing IPA fans like us to enjoy more of this amazingly, hoppy beer over a longer session, without giving up any of that gloriously crave-able botanically-driven dankness. Well, OK, when you compare to our bigger IPAs you find that you give up some, as thats what happens when you dramatically lower the abv. And while we work hard to bend the time/space/abv intensity continuum, weve admittedly not yet learned to break it. This comes damn close though.

Poured from the tap into a Rogue pint glass. The color is clear orange/gold with a foamy white head and some nice lacing. The smell is bright hops with some fresh hop aroma. Fresh cut grass is in the nose with a tangerine aroma sweetening things up and making it citrus smelling. The taste is nice piney hops with sweet light malty goodness. A nice citrus flavor with hints of tangerine and tangy grapefruit. Much like Enjoy By IPA, the flavor has that same earthy grass taste. The feel is light bodied and goes pretty damn easy. A tasty beer in a light session-able package. Some flavor reminiscent of bigger IPAs but has lightness that is very drinkable.

Boks på Café Sånn. Aroma dårlig do, sitrus, humle. Utseende uklar gylden med hvitt skum. Smak sitrus, humle, grape. En øl som lukter tragisk, men smaker godt. Det er moderat bitterhet. ---

An extremely well made and typically "American" IPA. A nice opague orange with a strong aroma and flavour of fruity hops that bely the relatively low abv. A good mouth feel and a flavour that lingered. Theres nothing to dislike, but it was just a bit "clinical."

Can from beer52 beer club. Probably the best session ipa Ive had. A little hazy with a thin head but bursting with hoppy flavours, and tones of grapefruit vanilla and biscuits. Very enjoyable, I wish I had more than one!

In a mystery case from beer hawk. Brewed in Berlin at 4.7% not 4.8%. Pours with a good head that disappears into a thin film after 5 mins. Golden very well hopped IPA with a bitter finish. Nice crisp ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Well hopped, quite earthy with hints of pine, some dark fruits, lovely bitter finish. Wouldnt imagine it was under five per cent, really full of character. This is excellent.

Got to love this much taste and all under 5% ABV. Can from the LCBO, did not realize this was an import until I got home, all good if those non Trump States decide to come our way. Just a great tasting IPA in a lighter form, citrus, pine tons of hops, looks a bit too clear. I will be back for more of this one

Can from LCBO. Canned 09.11.2016; BB 09.11.2017. Pours hazy paleish orange with consistent off-white head. Resiny bitter fruit aroma with a musky undertone; flavour of bitter fruitiness and resin, sweetness rather subdued. Finishes very dry. Carbonation just enough to make if feel refreshing, Outstanding, considering the ABV, I really loved this.
