Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Colin, again! Pours thick black-brown with a frothy beige head. Good aroma, suggestive of good depth, some dark chocolate, strong roast, brownies, dark fruits. Medium to big sweet flavor with light alcohol kick, dark chocolate, some scorched earth, burnt wood, burnt toffee. Full bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Warming finish with lots of bittersweet chocolate, lasting roast, charred wood. Good stuff. fiulijn (21506) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 26, 2010

Black color; creamy head. The bourbon aroma is lovely, with chocolate, crispy cookies, light alcohol. Chocolate and vanilla cookie flavor, strong body, silky, with tones of roasted malt, and in the final pungent alcohol. Long final. Powerful, but also excellent.
Bottle split at Jack the Slapper tasting, acquired from Liberty Station, 12/05/14 as Fyodors Classic.
Black with a moderately appointed dirty tan swirl that soon fucks right off and teases from the edge.
Nose is coconut shavings, good old Bounty Bar, bourbon tones, light spice, rich dark chocolate, mellow dark fruit tang.
Taste comprises rich chocolate, subtle coffee grinds, molasses, burnt toffee, dark roastings, peppery twinge, bourbonic boozeala.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with warming alcohol.
A solid impy and hits my top level 3.8 impy score, however I expected a little more ... not screaming top 50 beer to me! mcberko (19809) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 4, 2011
Sampled on tap at SIB, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of bourbon (though not too overburdening) and sweet roasted malts. Flavour is a whallop of bourbon barrels that have overtaken this brew, with a little smoke / peat - all of which cancels out the roastiness / coffee and everything else in the original. Very nice adaptation, though I prefer the original. rlgk (18843) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 13, 2014

Bottle @ DTE tasting shared by kermis. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized brown head. Aroma is so so lovely: roasted malts, roast, lots of bourbon. Taste malts, roasted malts, loads of bourbon, alcohol, bitter, lightly vanilla, hint of toffee and molasses. Aroma is great, taste is good, texture is thinner than I had expected, but still a lovely beer. brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - MAY 25, 2010
A: A jet black pour out of the growler with a sturdy tan head on top.
S: The amount of vanilla in the nose is absolutely astounding. The stout notes are still there--chocolate and roast, but the bourbon itself was somewhat muted.
T: Even more vanilla as the beer hits the tongue. Quite sweet, especially when compared to the base beer. A mild bourbon presence and some nice tannins from the barrel.
M: Quite medium to full bodied with a low, rolling carbonation. Not quite as thick and chewy as the IRS tends to be, but quite nice.
D: This one can catch up with you rather quickly. A pleasure to have been able to drink and I wish that there weren’t so many beers to try so I could have enjoyed this one a bit more. Dedollewaitor (16543) - Odense, DENMARK - JAN 16, 2016

On tap at Flying Saucer during the Stoned for Six Days. Pours a very dark brown with a medium creamy white head with decent spotty lacing. The aroma is a sweet roasted malt with cherry, vanilla, chocolate and alcohol. Thin mouthfeel with a roasted malt chocolate and sweet finish. Alcohol present but not overpowering. Enjoyed this one, a very impressive Imperial Stout from Stone. 800th Rating!
