By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

Can. German version. Clear, golden, frothy head. Pine herbs resin in aroma. Very dry, light bodied, no balance for strong herbal andcresin bitterness.

Can. Semi hazy orange golden beer with a large white head. Aroma is fruity with notes of caramel, citrus, peaches, oranges and pine needles. Flavor is fruity with notes of citrus, grapefruit, peaches, pine needles and mangos. Well balanced.

330 ml can from Stone Berlin. Pours hazy orange with an off-white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, citrus, malt sweetness and pine resin, but the fruity bits don’t seem as fresh and juicy as in better (A)IPA’s. Taste is quite dry despite the malty sweetness. Mainly reliant on pine resin and high astringent bitterness. Long bitter finish. Flavors of tropical fruit and citrus seem a bit suppressed. Really pleasant mouthfeel though, but mouthfeel alone can’t save a mediocre beer. Medium to high body, thick texture, medium carbonation/

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2017 Faint aroma of tropical fruit (pineapple). Taste is faint citrus, pine and grapefruit with subtle caramel undertones and some grass. It is a lovely beer. The one brewed in Berlin is rather different. Had that in Finland. Harsh pallet, not quite as much caramel malts and the grassier notes are more to the fore. Half a score lower in my opinion. Still really good.

[Can from Stone Berlin] A lot of citrus in the aroma with hints of mango and pineapple freshness. Earthy, malty punch in the background. Cloudy orange in the glass, frothy snow-white head. Taste is dominated by fruity dryness with some earthiness and malty core. Harsh hopiness is also noticeable. Full body and fizzy carbonation. Too aggressive in my book.

Grumpelmies (366) - GERMANY - DEC 8, 2016
Can from Stone Berlin. Slightly cloudy orange/gold. Huge foamy head. Nice lacing. Aroma is pine, orange, lemons and grapefruit. Beautiful. Taste is oranges, grapefruit and some malts in the background. Grassy, herbal and a little bit spicy. Good balance between malts and hops (although this is of course a very hop-driven beer by design). Highly carbonated. Dry and very bitter finish. A lovely and delicious IPA.

Can 330 ml. Clear golden with medium head. Aroma of citrus and resin. Totally dry, medium and quite short bitterness, carbonation bit too high for me.

Flanfl (816) - Lyon, FRANCE - DEC 5, 2016
Clear golden, medium white head. Strong aroma of pine, orange, grapefruits, mango, caramel. Flavours of pine, caramel, orange and grapefruits. Medium bitter backbone. Long strongly bitter piney dry finish.

tfredvik (2040) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 2, 2016
Clear, pale amber body with large, creamy, eggnog head that reduces to an everlasting layer, excellent lacing. Sweet, surprisingly malty and strong aroma of caramel and a bit too overripe tropical fruits. Strong flavour of caramel, slightly overripe tropical fruits, grapefruit and bitter orange marmalade, with a floral and spicy background. Light sweet initial taste followed by a rather heavy bitter and long-lasting finish. Mid-bodied, dry, soft carbonation. A very nice one, but didn’t feel as fresh as I had expected.

Hanoi (974) - Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - NOV 26, 2016
Can. Berlin. Nose is citrus, malt, slight dankness, lime, grapefruit. Taste follows, good malt body with grapefruit, dank, lime rind, tangerine, lemon, with a dry lemon grass finish. Looks beautiful in the glass with a pillowy head. A classic deeply drinkable modern IPA.
