By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

The only beer Ive ever given a 10 for aroma. Excellent hoppy boquet that masks a bit of the bitterness in the finish. Not an everyday drinking beer for me but great nonetheless.

Draft @ Falling Rock: Gold amber pour with a small, creamy head. Fantastic aroma is hop heavy - flowery perfume and orange citrus prevail over a slight caramel note. The body is peachy and drinkable, noting honey and toffee malts with an apple fruitiness. The finish is overly bitter and almost acidic. This really detracts from the creamy, malt backbone and puts an abrupt finish to this great drinking IPA. Still great though and went quite well with the Smoked Applewood BLT w/ garlic and herb mayo.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2006 Aroma: Very attractive hop aroma. Rsinous, slightly citrusy. Appearance: Good initial head, but dissipated quickly. Small amount of lace. Beautiful burnished gold color. Flavor: Slight grapefruit. Medium-High hop bitterness. Underlying malt sweetness which continues into the aftertaste. Palate: Medium bodied. Nice hoppiness on center and back of tongue, and roof of mouth. Lingering aftertaste. Overall: A superb example of the style. Very hoppy, but not overwhelmingly so. A nice balance of hop flavor, malt sweetness, and hop bitterness.

Fabulous floral hoppy aroma, cloudy paleness with foamy head. Agressively hopped with a great balance of flavors that are enhanced as the beer hits the back of the mouth, leaving an aftertaste that begs the taste buds for more. This a delicious IPA for the hop lover.

A great example of an IPA. Hoppy in nose and finish, although not ridiculously dry. Slight hint of sweet floral taste. Medium bodied.

Poured from bottle. Plain and simple - this one is all about the hops. They dominate the aroma and flavor, but it isnt overdone for an IPA, and even so, theres actually an underlying smooth character to it. I attribute that to the quality of the hops, but what do I know? An excellent IPA.

Bottle 46F Shaker Glass. Wow HOPPY, Pine needles, grass, and citrus are plentiful in the aroma, barely noticble malt undertones. Light clear golden color, with a large semi-foamy head with decent lacing. Bitter begining, with sour notes, tons of hops, a little smokiness, very cutting flavor. Leaves the mouth feeling sqeaky clean. Nothing grassy about the taste, but plenty of pine, and cool wintergreen minty citrus. Like eating the rind of a lime. Spicy yet also very cooling. Mouthfeel is lighter, only slightly carbonated no notice of alcohol. Very warming and relaxing beer. My cares seem to fade away with this beer. Sleep grows ever nearer. Hypnotic in its opiate properties. It is good but i dont want to stand up now. Nicely done you west coast ballers.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2006 Its no secret that IPAs bring forth the grapefruits, and the first time I had this it was like drinking Ruby Red Grapefruit juice. Now the grapefruits (zesty) blend right in there. Other aromas and flavors include pine, resinous, and floral accents. A touch of spiciness to this one too (yeast or hops?), as a peppery flavor comes out among the hop bitterness. Hop level was totally enjoyable and unoffensive in this one. The best tasting IPA Ive ever had to go along with a golden yellow (slight orange) pour with a nice head that stuck around til the last sip (which got better as it warmed). Light to medium mouthfeel (malts are in the background for sure), just a darned drinkable IPA.

Aroma is fruity pine, resinous with an underlying caramel that is very balanced. Fresh, but not overpowering. Golden orange in color with a thin, white head. Flavors of caramel and lighter cereal like malts with a well balanced hop profile with warming bitterness and pine resin. Overall it has an "airy" flavor. Interesting, I could drink this like a session beer...for a small session. Lighter body, fairly light texture.
