By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

Thanks to hezron for sharing this. At $4.99, it seems like a great bargain.
Aroma / Apppearance - Extremely hoppy nose reminds me of freshly peeled oranges, lemons and a glen of pine trees. The creamy dense head soon mellowed out, leaving behind a lemon colored body.
Flavor / Palate - The first impression is of grapefruit, lemon lime and pine needles. The bitterness of the hops starts out on the back of the tongue, then slowly moves forward until the entire mouth is filled with the taste of west coast hops. The body is extremely full, getting into every crevice and corner of the mouth. An excellent example of an IPA and an excellent value at $4.99.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2007 12 Oz. Bottle. Fairly rich aroma of plum sauce and orange blossom in a bit of dance with prickly pear and beaming floral resins. West coast hops dominate as expected. Pour of an even deeply hued golden, with a thin rim of white head. Wow. Flavor is incredibly sweet and lucious. The hops almost play background to an incredibly intense florally fruity malt, that carries a gentle current of citrus reductions and pleasent curries of planty resins. Not the least bit harsh or vegetal. A full mouthfeel, with rich creamed malts and a hint of cream of wheat, with raisins, brown sugar and maple syrup. Finish with lifting bouquet of galangal and tarragon.

Incredible. When I want an IPA, nothing will scratch the itch like a Stone IPA (well, maybe Stone Ruination IPA). Simply incredible. I wish there was a way to mainline this stuff.

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2006 An excellent beer, mint/pine/sweet aroma, very nice. Hits hoppy and bitter, pine, but then bitter and sweet finish. Only fault is a lack of body, but a damn good, very drinkable, hoppy IPA.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2007 Pours golden w/ full, semi creamy, spattered froth. Hangtime is good reducing to a partial dusty canopy w/ a few spattered islands. A nice fluffy ring is persistant. Aromas of brisk flowery hops and just slightly malty. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers creates a semi creamy texture. This brew is bold, sharp, and forthcoming yet very well blanced. The hop profile is so fresh and inviting yet slaps me in the face as I walk through the door. Very brisk and free like a savage butterfly. The malt component is like a wallflower. It just blends in beautifully. Big citrus rind lingers on the finish turning to asprin and digging in deep. Overall: this IPA is amoung the elite. Brisk, fresh, clean, and leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended.

Bottle. Poured yellow with white head that disipated quickly. Nice hops aroma and taste. not a particularly full bodied taste.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2006 Hoppy as can be. Reminded me of ginger, pepper, lemon grass. very rich and drinkable. Have to add a caveat to this beer: because of its extreme hoppy-ness, your breath will smell "beery" for much longer than you think, as I found out even after a very thorough floss and brushing!

Just pure bitterness. A bit thin and uncomplicated. If what you want is hops you get it.
