UPDATED: AUG 11, 2006 Bomber. Pours hazy orange with a nice white head. Very nice west coast citrus and floral hop aroma. Malt and hop balance is very good for an IPA, athough I would prefer more sweetness. Finish is clean, dry, bitter, and grassy from the the dry hopping. Does not stick at the back of the mouth like some IPAs. Nicely done. REVISITED 8-10-06. Boy a fresh bottle makes a difference. The residual sweetness that I was looking for was there. The hops give off almost a fruit loop ceral type of flavor. Nice!!!! beanwiggin (22) - California, USA - FEB 14, 2006
nice taste and a great finish! this stone is exceptional for all occasions and may be a reasonable substitute for those picnic days when everyone else is drinking, dare i say, light beers. jde123 (775) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - FEB 12, 2006
A very good IPA, however I found the level or amount or type of hops to be a little too dry for my taste. Great coloring, nicely floral aroma, yet smells as if stored in very old wood barrels prior to pouring. Overall, too hoppy for me, but a quality beer nonetheless. droopy49 (97) - Lancaster, California, USA - FEB 11, 2006
22oz bottled poured a rich copper color w/ a mountainous off-white head. Aggressive hop aroma with a slight nuttiness. The flavor was wonderful! Nice bitter flavor with notes of citrus and pine. Very crisp and refreshing aftertaste. Hoppier than your average IPA, highly recommended. JFowler (32) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - FEB 10, 2006
UPDATED: JUN 10, 2008 The finest IPA available.Crisp fruity and clean with mild bite.A hint of pine on the finish super drinkable. My staple beer. There is not much more to say then asking you this question. Why are you still reading this review? Go get some Stone IPA. The Gold Standard of India’s. Light fruity and very refreshing.

Bomber. Pours clear orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma of pine and grapefruit, nicely balanced. Flavor is hoppy but light. Palate just a tad watery. Highly drinkable, a standard against which all other IPA’s are judged. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - FEB 7, 2006
Draught. Clear yellow-orange color with porous white head that laced the glass. Sprucy hop nose and flavor with some grapefruit undertones. There is moderate hop bitterness up front that wanes fairly quickly. Lowe1983 (1656) - Dayton, Ohio, USA - FEB 5, 2006
Pours a cloudy, light amber/yellow color with a medium slightly off white head. Aroma is of hops and citrus, mostly grapefruit. Flavor is of grapefruits a finish of hops. My first Stone brew, and a very good one at that. Immy (1958) - Virginia Beach, USA - FEB 5, 2006
Bomber. Pours crystal clear gold with a big white head. Dense lacing throughout. Floral, citrus nose with a touch of candylike sweetness. Flavor is less bitter than I expected. Grapefruit peel and a touch of lemon zest. More like an east coast style IPA, not hopped through the roof. As usual, a solid from Stone. sersdf (1020) - chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 4, 2006
UPDATED: MAY 29, 2007 i was expecting better. probably could have been more hoppy. the flavor just seemed lacking. it seems like it would go really well with food. hides the alcohol well. i guess i had unfairly high expectations for it because it isn’t very accessible for me.
