This is simply a great IPA. Wonderful hoppy nose. Pours a fantastic golden color. Flavor is rich with hop complexity, but is not overly bitter. Now that I can get these in sixers, I can die a happy man. Cheers! lotsalaughs (175) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 19, 2014
caramel, grass, spruce, citrus, golden, clear, minimal head, white foam, light sweetness, medium bitterness, light body, oily feel, average carbonation, bitter, long finish
Blast of citrus pine hops upon pouring. White foam that dissipates fairy soon with light lacing. Bread/caramel malt initially, then medium bitterness takes over. Medium carbonation with a light oily mouthfeel. Spruce like bitterness is the finish that lasts. Pretty dry at the end. Quite good. ReademNwheat (174) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 14, 2007
Pours a great golden/light orange color and smells of hops. The taste is great on this ipa. NIce hoppy taste with some bitterness that you can’t get enough of. mmm mmm. Great ipa. rhapsouldize (174) - Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 29, 2004
UPDATED: SEP 29, 2004 Pours a light amber, filtered, with a bubbly off-white head. Flowery, citrusy aroma. Slightly bitter, tastes of citrus...almost grapefruity...and flowers. Very dry and crisp. Overall, delicious. DKlovesbeer (172) - Sarasota, Florida, USA - OCT 2, 2004
This is a perfectly carbonated pale golden gem of a beer. The vanilla colored head is gorgeous, fluffy, and perfectly foamy. As the head slowly dissipates it leaves and abundance of thick, intricate lacing. This beer looks good! Aroma is strong and hoppy. This isn’t a sensitive beer; it’s a full frontal assault on the senses. Aroma is loaded with big bursts of hops, grapefruit, pine, and sharp notes of alcohol. Flavor starts off sweet with malt, cherry, and berry flavors. Soon pine nut, tobacco, grapefruit, and sharp hops flavors take over. The beer finishes with a mouth filling burst of bitter hops followed by an alcohol KO. Overall, this is one of the finest beers that I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. I can’t get it locally but if I could then I’d keep it on hand at all times.

12 oz. - Pours a yellowish/orange with nice fluffy off-white head. (Good lacing). Aroma is of hops, grapefruit, pine and a little malt. Taste is the same, decently bitter (70+ IBUs), mouthfeel - crisp, dry, lightly carbonated, medium-bodied. A nice and well balanced IPA - but honestly: a little boring given its Stone. It just tastes like a less bitter and flavorful Ruination. maxhits (172) - Pico Rivera, California, USA - MAR 29, 2002
Pours with a clear, dark gold color. Less citrus, more honey sweetness. Higher alcohol (6.9%). Modest head of foam, doesn’t exhibit the cloudiness or level of sedimentation that other craft IPA’s show. Sweet, yet bitter... and for those who find this brew lacking... then you are ready to graduate to one of the best beers on this planet; Stone’s Arrogant Bastard. Can’t say that it is my favorite IPA, but it is pretty darn good and reasonbly priced at $2.99 per 22 oz. bottle. Keil (171) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 26, 2011
Pours a beautiful light gold, nice fluffy head. Aroma is cat pee, pine, citrus, grapefruit. Flavor is clean hops. Nice citrus and pine hop flavors, juicy grapefruit hop finish. Just enough malt to know its there but its in the backseat. Clean yeast finish. Great IPA. Loddeer (171) - USA - OCT 10, 2004
Let me start by saying my expectations are sky-high, and that I love great IPA’s, I will continue my review following the dots ... mmm mmm Good! Yeah this is definitely an excellent IPA, the initial flavoring is strong and distinct. The after-taste is unusually subtle yet powerful. It really does an excellent job of masking the underlying power and presents itself as a hoppy giant. Completely enjoyable and a superb brew. shameusburp (171) - Virginia, USA - MAR 3, 2005
Truly good stuff. Bitter with fruity tones. Very drinkable and great ABV. Awesome IPA.
