By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

Nice floral aroma, with pine. Pours a deep golden color with light white head that lasts for days. The taste is very bitter not overly complex a little bit of sweetness on the end to balance it out. Grapefruit is the dominant note but also piney. Medium bodied, sticky mouthfeel and very soft carbonation. Overall it is really good but doesn’t give the complexity that can be found in a lot of IPAs these days to make it stand out of the crowd other than the Stone name.

Bottled. Amber colour with a slight haze and a very small, off-white head. Honey, yellow fruit, and a faint hint of pine. Very dry throughout. Very hoppy with pine-resin bitterness that's very strong on the finish. Clean with a good balance of bitterness, acidity, and alcohol.

Great grassy hop aroma dominates but there is some malt at the end. Poured with a white full head, clear yellow in color. Good hop bitterness but it has a balance of some malt sweetness in the finish. As the flavor fades the finish gets dry and bitter. This is a good overall IPA there wasn't the crystal malt flavor that I have seen in other IPA's. I still like the DFH 60 min more but this is also a good IPA that I would drink again.

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2006 If you really like hops, there probably isn’t another beer you should be drinking. It has a very crisp and distinct flavor. The first time I tried it, I wasn’t sure it was for me...now...I can’t quite get enough.

Very well balanced India Pale Ale. Stone is a great brewery and this is excellent.

Pours a golden-orange with a nice frothy head that lingers and laces the glass well. Huge hops aroma. citrus and pine. The taste has a pretty strong hop bitterness. Some grapefruity-citrus flavors that give it a balance of sweetness. Full mouthfeel and long finish where some of the alcohol comes through but this is a very smooth brew.

Mart (211) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 10, 2007
Mondial de la bière 07. Couleur orangée, claire, mousse tient vraiment longtemps.

Guys. It’s too much. Aroma - shit, really shit. Then you let it be for 1-2 minutes. Really different. Sour, hoppy and "not ready for you" is coming up. Pours- light amber with small white top. Now you’re getting closer to arome a well, smells a litle sour and I would say kinky. Taste now - first taste is like Stella with some added water, then you get the hops, then taste varieties and aftertaste .... uugh Not easy. Dry taste. Need more..... and some more for the taste after the first sip.
