My first american ipa, guys you can make some great bitter beers! Tastibg this one after de la senne speciale belge, this one has more bitterness, not too much, great beer! jeffhobo (94) - Nevada, USA - FEB 28, 2012
Dark orange/ medium yellow witha head that ends up coating about half of the beer to the bottom of the glass. Aroma is malty, kind of like sticking your nose into a bag of dried malt extract, but it also has that sting of hops there in the background. Taste is malty, but immediately goes to the hops and just lingers there on your tongue, producing an aftertaste of sweet, sweet hop goodness. linkolnlogg (94) - your home, Minnesota, USA - NOV 7, 2006
Bottle to shaker (pounder). Pours out a pale gold colour with a light creamy white head with nice lacing. Scent is light earth and sweet floral hops. The hop is abruptly agressive and then quickly subsides to mild sweet hops. Taste is as above- abruptly aggressive hop elements with a grain element additionally intermixed. Mouthfeel is smooth and the finish is amazingly smooth if not a bit quick. A good brew overall but it unfortunately seems a bit short lived and relative to other stone brews slightly lacking in aggression. Westy1130 (94) - New York, USA - APR 8, 2017
Poured a medium amber color with smooth thick head. Very nice aroma of orange/lemon zest with hints of pine. Well balance of hops and malt. cwill (93) - Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 10, 2017
Golden amber pour with minimal head. Strong aromas of fresh pine, citrus fruits lemon, grapefruit and earthy herbs. Taste is clean; pale malt body dominated by big hop flavors; bold but balanced bitterness. Slick mouthfeel medium body, with moderate carbonation. Very good west coast IPA.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass. Pours clear golden color with medium white head. Aromas of pine and citrus. Bitter hops present throughout. Hoppy finish. Not much malt for balance detected. I’m overall disappointed with this beer since I was expecting so much based on others I’ve tried from Stone. BrewIPA (93) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUL 12, 2012
Pours a nice gold with medium head. Wonderful aroma with hints of citrus. Nice malt balance and hops are just right. Leaves nice taste afterwards. One of my favorite IPAs.

I believe that I first tried this gem a decade ago, and yes, I went purely on the logo. If you haven’t tried Stone IPA yet, now’s the time. The appearance, nose, taste, thirst quenching attribute, and after bite all point to excellence. I don’t often indulge due to its price tag, but Bell Bev in South Philly had a great sale. Cheers! Pouring a canned craft beer is still a bit... uncanny, but it’s the future right? Very malty IPA with a strong bitter kick at the end. Aherbelste (93) - - NOV 1, 2016
Color is amber to golden yellow. Average white foam head. Aroma is heavy floral hops, citrics. Taste is really bitter, somewhat sweet... flavour isn’t too balanced. Medium body, sticky texture, low carbonation and a long bitter finish.
