By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2015 650 ml bottle from the LCBO.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy amber colour with lots of white head. Average retention and lots of lacing.

Aroma: Malt, hops.

Flavours: Malt, citrus, slightly bitter hop finish.

Mouthfeel: Average viscosity with higher carbonation.

Overall: Nice IPA but I was surprised to find more malt than I expected. This wasnt a bad thing as there was a good balance between the malt and citrus.

Bottle to glass. Pours a light amber orangish color with an off white head. Aroma is big citrusy hops, with a nice balanced malt backbone. Flavor is a bit more on the bitter end, but has a good fruity citrusy hop presence. A nice flagship IPA.

Keg @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours clear gold with good off-white head. Aroma is sweet caramel. Taste is sweet with citrus, pine and more caramel and a nice alcohol bite underpinning proceedings. A classic IPA.

Really good pour, great head, was frozen due to fridge temp being reduced. Bitter after taste. Fruity smell, floral bit of a caramel like taste. Will try one that hasnt been frozen.

Draught at Bubba Gumps in Anaheim. Pours a slightly hazy, golden orange with a small white head that laces. Hoppy grapefruit aroma with pine and caramel. Sweet hoppy flavour of grapefruit and caramel with a dry, bitter, pine finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. An excellent IPA.

Clear, golden colour; nice, white head with lacing. Sweet, malty backbone, lot of sweet and citrus fruits, herbs and some honey from oxidation. Quite sweet taste, herbs and fruits. Medium bitterness.

Was thrilled to finally get my hands on this stuff. Maybe its the high hopes I had ascribed to this stuff, but I wasnt really blown away. Theres some bitter, piney hops on the nose, but I get more earthy, spicy caramel malt than anything. Taste is a really nice chewy caramel malt, with a bitter resinous hop punch. Texture is wonderfully creamy. This stuff is really tasty but I was hoping for more "west coast hop" aroma.

Decent stuff - bitter and refreshing. Some fruity, citric and enjoyable hoppy notes. A bit over rated - still pretty good though. After all Stone never fails.

Sweet orange, berries, mango. Sweet citrus, peach, pineapple, spiced herbs, dry hoppy finish. Classic solid ipa, Stone really has set the West Coast scenes standard very high.
