By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

Bottle at Magic_dave6s disco dance tasting. Gold, thin white head. Hazy american hops. Mouth is quite watery hops, quite bitter, grass, slightly sweet. Finishes dry bitterness with some slightly sweet woodiness. Good.

Moderate amounts of IPA citrus in both the nose and mouth, in addition to the hop bitterness. Golden body with long lasting head.

Bottle. Pours a clear orange color with a small off white head. Aroma of cascade hops, caramel malt and grapefruit. Taste is hoppy and semi sweet. Another west coast hop monster but I do have to say that this one is relatively balanced though.

Bottle (35 cl) at the Rover, Gteborg, Sweden. Cloudy amber/orange, low white head. Piney and apricot hop aroma, no malt character. Medium bodied and smooth. Well balanced, long bitter finish. Overrated.

I thought this was a very good IPA but definitely not worth the extra$ IMO. I would rather have a Flying Dod Snake Dog and use the extra cash for a cigar

12oz. Golden-ish pour with creamy head, standard. Hoppy bitter citrus, loads of caramel malts. Sweet spot of IPAs, excellent west coast example. Crisp.

12 oz bottle. Hazy orange body with a diminishing off-white head. Aroma is fruity peaches and grapefruit. Flavor is medium sweet malty with notes of caramel and a nice balanced bitterness. It actually does not feel as bitter as 70 IBU, but there is a clean pronounced bitterness. Lovely.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2012 [Bottle] Pours bright hazy orange with a small white head. Stone usually does a good job with big, hoppy aromas, and although this isnt their best example of it, it is still enjoyable. It does fade after the initial blast, but there is still a lot of citrus (especially lemon zest), honey, some malt and a strange herbal scent. The taste was really not as bitter as I had expected. There was grapefruit in the finish, but that was after some solid malt, and a strange semi-sweetness that I couldnt identify. Meium mouthfeel with a long, dry finish. Not bad. A very solid, clean, well made IPA that did not blow me away, but was fairly impressive nonetheless. Old rating: 7/3/8/4/15=3.7

Re-rate: Still a pretty solid beer. The taste is surprisingly hot, quite bitter, and then an unusual blend of melon and papaya, with lots of lemon drop hard candy towards the end, before finishing with barley. Surprisingly thick mouthfeel, smooth, fairly long finish. Overall, enjoyable, but doesnt hide its alcohol very well. Drinks more like a IIPA, and not something Id want to sit down and have multiple pints of.

2008 Bottle - Pours a murky straw color with a quickly dissipating white head...aroma is clean citrus and pine, flavour follows, nice fleeting bitterness balanced with a touch of back end malt...this suprised me by finishing a bit thin, but I like the ABV and is a decent west coast IPA ...
