By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2007 The pour is a tanned shade of golden yellow with a good rocky head. Butterscotch, lemon and pine aromas hint at the perfect balance this brew strikes: juicy peach, grapefruit and cool leafy bitterness give way to a smooth caramel sweet finish. A flawlessly rounded rendition, to be sure. If it had a bit more of a gritty bitter edge it would be unforgettable.

Updated. On tap at the Dominion Brewhouse. Aroma is fairly dull with mild flowers and sour citrus. Tastes of white rice with honey and a touch of soy, some oyster crackers and salt. Strange. Overly smooth in the mouth and somewhat lifeless. Its either the bottom of the barrel or a dirty line, but this one was done in.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2008 Hazy orange with a tight white head. Very woody, piny aroma. Massive hoppy character, mostly resinous and woody, slightly floral, but not very fruity at all. Pale biscuity malt takes a backseat. Very bitter finish. I like my IPAs with a little more fruit and a little more sweet malt character. Still very good though.

Bottle. [Blind tasting session @ Sk8viking] #13 Average fizzy white head that was mostly diminishing. Good lacing. Clear sparkling body with an orange hue. Aroma was flowers, grass, grapefruit, citrus, caramel, licorice. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and a dry texture. Flavor was moderated bitter with licorice and caramel sweetness. Nice dry and slightly licorice sweet finish.

Very sweet and sour aroma, dominated by citrus. Taste very similar to grapefruit...sweet and bitter. Not as smooth as I would prefer, but not bad.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2008 Burnt orange, slightly hazy with a smallish head that lasts and leaves a wet kiss of lace. Aroma is dominated by pine-citrus hop, but sweet malt body is noticeable enough to make a nice counterbalance. Slight banana-soap aroma is a bit out of place here though. Body is light-medium, a little too fizzy and watery. Flavor is strong hop citrus and resin, but malt backbone is almost big enough to balance and then fade slowly into the background as the woody-tea leaf finish and aftertaste take over. Nice, but overrated.

One of the better IPAs out there. Golden color with minimal head. Lots of hops and pine in the aroma and taste.

Mondial de la bire 07. Couleur orange, claire, mousse tient vraiment longtemps. Arme houblon, pin, agrumes. Got bien houblonn, sans tre trop fort en amertume, car bien quilibr. Agrumes, et malt caramel. Corps moyen, effervescence faible moyenne. IPA trs bonne, mais me semble trs survalue ici...

Any good IPA needs to be heavy on the hops, however it has a good bitter finish.

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2012 Re-rate 1/24/12: Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks zvikar. Slightly hazy deep golden. Aroma of piney and grapefruity hops and some malt, slightly caramelly. Flavor starts sweetish and malty and continues with lingering grapefruity bitterness. Medium-bodied. Nice and quaffable. 6/3/7/3/14=3.3 <BR
Bottle. Clear orange color with a medium off-white head. Floral and fruity aroma with lots of hops, citrus, and some peach. Flavor is malty sweet with some caramel and some fruitiness, and evolves into lovely hoppy, grapefruity, bitterness. Nice full-bodied. Great and refreshing. 8/4/8/4/16=4
