Pours orange/gold with a small off white head. Aroma is huge citrus and pine. The flavor is equally big, huge hop flavor, with a nice balance between sweet and bitter. A buttery resin finish that stays with you. Very nice IPA. AmEricanbrew (7080) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - OCT 19, 2007
22 oz. bottle. The smell of fresh cannabis bud took me back to the days of yore with hydros and grow lights. Poured with no head. The taste was grapefruit bittersweet with enough of a malt presence to keep the hops from overwhelming. The full body of this brew carries the flavors nicely. Probably the best of Stones widely availible beers.Jan 2002

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2007 The pine taste is a lot more evident than the citrus taste but that is why I bought it I guess. Always refreshing, I’ll welcome it whenever I can get it. tunneler (131) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - OCT 17, 2007
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2009 Piney/citrus hops dominate a bitter beer that doesn’t seem all that bitter thanks to the well-balanced body and clean finish. Great stuff. Cruzan59 (197) - Lititz, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 16, 2007
6-pack from Total Wine in River Edge, NJ...bottle pours cloudy orange with an off-white head...initial smell is of a freshly opened orange juice quickly followed up by a floral zestiness...taste is citrusy accompanied by a mildly bitter hoppiness...nice mellow mouthfeel...this is an excellent IPA...thanks to the employee at Total Wine that recommended it.

After chasing 3 kids around Sea World on a warmer than normal October day, I came home to this, and wow did it hit the spot. Hops, hops hops! Citrus aroma, golden color, very bitter, and the alcohol is well-hidden. An excellent IPA, my favorite. MaltOMeal (1094) - Land of Sugar, Texas, USA - OCT 14, 2007
12 oz bottle. Poured a clear, light golden color with a thin white head. Why do mine pour a thin head while others have claimed it poured a thick head? I guess if I just turned the bottle upside down into the glass I could have produced a bigger head. Strong hop and citrus smell. Strong, sweet citrus taste - mainly grapefruit. Bitter but sweet. Clean tasting finish. portermax55 (118) - Canterbury, Connecticut, USA - OCT 12, 2007
12 oz. bottle into pint. Pours a bright orange color with a long-lasting white head. Strong smell of hops and tropical fruits. Tastes of heaven! A near perfect balance of bitterness with touch of sweetness to finish. Very light and smooth mouthfeel for being an IPA. Call me crazy, but I perfer this to the Ruination IPA. Will purchase much more in the near future. Cryotek (206) - Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA - OCT 11, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 8, 2008 The perfect example of an IPA, the only problem is i hate any and all IPA’s. Smells and tastes supper hoppy or dry hops. Hazy orange color. And of course the usual cleaning product taste of an IPA. I’ll recommend this for IPA lovers, but i will never drink this beer again. Stuedmaster (352) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 10, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 15, 2010 My favorite local brew, wonderful aroma with superb appearance and flavor. It raises the bar for IPA’s. We are lucky to have such great breweries here in San Diego like Stone, Alesmith, and Ballast Point. This brew has a grapefruit and pine aroma with floral notes. There is a robust, grainy quality that balances the bitterness. It has a powerful alcohol kick that leaves you satisfied.
