UPDATED: NOV 12, 2007 Was nice. Poured a light amber hue and had a big foamy head. Lots of hops in scent and flavor and a nice bitter after taste. Also detected hints of pine and citrus in the scent. Recommended but preferred second to Ruination IPA. Clark G (3) - Beverly Hills, California, USA - SEP 20, 2007 does not count
As another mentioned....very good, but not quite as good as Arrogant Bastard ajax4 (9) - USA - SEP 18, 2007 does not count
Floral hoppy aroma, with a slight spicy/piny character. Light resin, but somewhat fruity - solid malt backbone. troopie (2452) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - SEP 16, 2007
Bottle. Floral hoppy aroma. Poured tarnished gold with foamy hoppy white head. Hoppy flavour, with faint malty sweetness to avoid unbalance. Lasting bitter and hoppy flavour. One of the best IPAs I’ve ever tasted. Only my second 5 in a year. Eructoblaster (4411) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 16, 2007
Bottle - 12 oz. Hazy light amber body with low carbonation and a thin but lasting off-white creamy head. Very well balanced malty/hoppy aroma that carries bready, herbal and flowery notes. Wonderful sharp and dry hoppy taste that leaves a long and robust bitter aftertaste. Excellent IPA.

I have been very impressed with all of the Stone brews thus far. The labels are very cool and the brews ere excellent. This IPA is one of the better I’ve had in a while and the alcohol content really helps my rating as well. It is disguised in a flavorful, hoppy, crisp pale with a terrific finish. I really like this one. arsenal (10) - Orange, Virginia, USA - SEP 14, 2007
i never used to like ales that tasted like they were flavored with a pine branch. consider me converted. the alcohol content certainly helps. adam7679 (6) - Ringgold, Georgia, USA - SEP 14, 2007 does not count
This is one of my all time favorite IPA’s. My only other favorite is DFH 90 minute. I love a robust IPA. This beer is hoppy, but not overly hopped like some cheap IPA’s. The aroma, and the head are perfect for a beer like this. Stone certainly lives up to its reputation. 36ls (2) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 10, 2007 does not count
A very lovely beer, but for me it takes a back seat to the Arrogant Bastard. RblWthACoz (964) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - SEP 8, 2007
Pours a cloudy gold with a one finger head. Smell is highly sweet with a touch of lemon. Flavor seems somewhat light but thick with personality at the same time...almost seems hefeweizen-esqe, though Belgian at the same time. Starts off slightly in citrus and delivers a high level of bitter into your mouth. Gets smoother as time goes on. Smooth, but a bit strong on the mouthfeel. Highly drinkable.
