On tap @ Specific Gravity, Salisbury Md-Brown pour w/a moderate head. Sweet, woodsy aroma. Earthy flavors of smoke, roasted malt, wood/oak, candied sugar, & molassis. Smooth & easy to drink. I wasn’t blown away by this one, but that may have just been me as I’ve had quite a few barrell aged beers lately. Maybe I’m just getting a little burned out on these, but this is when you see these out there, so you gotta get them now or wait til next year! Aroma: Full of citrus hops (grapefruit and pineapple), resin, as well as some caramel notes
Appearance: It pours a dark reddish-brown color with a small beige head and light lace
Flavor: The taste is rather big, with medium-heavy sweetness and heavy bitterness as well
Palate: The body of this one is fairly sticky, it’s medium-full, with a lengthy and fairly dry finish to it
I guess I’m the only person on earth who hasn’t tried this one yet, huh? It’s only been out for a few months, but every time it comes up in conversation the person I’m talking to looks at me like I’m telling them I haven’t tried something that has been around forever. "Seriously? You haven’t tried Lukcy Basartd yet?" Well, now I have, OK? Seriously though, I had been meaning to try it, I was just a little slower then the rest of the world to pick up a bottle. Anyway, I doubt anyone has made it this far into my review, but I did enjoy this beer quite a bit. It was worth trying for sure, and I would definitely drink it again.
Bomber graciously shared by Muenster. Well, this is exactly what I was expecting. We had just sampled the Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary Grand Cru and this one really reminds me of that. This is basically a beer that tastes more like Stone than any other Stone beer before it. The malts are the most interesting part with a mix of wood, tobacco and a distinct melon flavor that I didn’t get at all in the Sierra 30th. 12 ounce sample on tap at the Davis Graduate. Is it really necessary to have all of the propaganda from the bottle listed here? The aroma is fruitier and somewhat floral. Scant oakiness and some sweet character is also present. Mostly transparent dark amber body with a frothy yellowish head. Starts a little sweet before a touch of vanilla makes an appearance. Papery notes in the middle with more woody barrel notes. This is just very papery, which is a bit off-putting. Finishes with herbal hop bitterness and scant astringency. Lingering bitterness.

Pours red-brown and transparent with a fairly large and foamy light brown head and strong lacing. Nose is potent floral hops akin to a strong IPA with a little apple and brown sugar malt. Flavor is less powerful, for lack of a better word, than the other "Bastards", with the sweet malt stepping forward more than in those. Hops are still quite strong and it’s a bitter experience but smooth, lightly sugared flavors are a new sensation among the Arrogants. Finish is relatively short and bittersweet. Alcohol is very well hidden. An excellent ale, like most everything from Stone Brewing Co., but it’s not as in-your-face as I hoped. JaBier (8112) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JAN 21, 2011
Bottle shared by a friend. Opaque copper pour with a thin beige head. Aroma of sweet caramel, grassy hop, a bit of cherry and pee. Bottle. Slightly off-white head on a orange-copper body. Lots of nice hoppiness in the aroma, but also comes with some caramel and oak. Piny hop aromas continue through into the taste with a good deal of woodiness from both the hops and the slight oak AB addition. Very dry aftertaste, and was glad to not pick up on too much caramel. Just enough for some solid balance. LIngering hop burn on the palate. Medium body with bubbly carbonation. Nice drinking, but having a hard time not liking the individual components more.
