AN IMPERIAL PILSNER FIT FOR BLOTTING OUT THE SUN Bold. Sharp. Golden. Like an axe used to cleave the bitter tongue of its drinkers, Day Slayer is here to delight in the destruction of your palate. Deep in the darkest reaches exists an elite group of brewers formed in the image of chaos. Destined to ravage the earth, sowing bitterness upon the tongues of beer drinkers everywhere, the warrior brewers of Maine Beer, Societe Brewing and Stone Brewing have sharpened their axes and grown in might and fury, anticipating this day of reckoning. A swath of nobly-hopped damnation has been carved, eradicating the sun, yet lulling you into confidence with its soft golden hue. Day Slayer is here to destroy the weak and huddled masses, unleashing upon the world a mouth-shattering crescendo of palate destroying hops, fermented with the finest of Pilsner strains, delivering a beer as sharp as their blades. Enjoy fresh. Rock hard. Tasting Notes: Bold in character, this clean and crisp imperial pilsner has intense bready character before turning sharply bitter with hints of pink peppercorns on the mid-palate. Finishes clean and dry.

Bottle - massive bodied lager/pils - strays into golden ale, if not IPA territory - plenty of hoppy interest - well balanced - quite bitter - yeah I like it but don’t love it cos too much sweet malt.

From bottle (2017 vintage) in shaker. Pours clear honey amber with wispy white head that laced nicely and mix of grassy and fruity (melon, tangerine) hop aroma. Rich taste with velvety mouthfeel and bitter accents in the finish. Top notch drop.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2017 From a 650ml bottle on 1/10/217 (shared with Butz). The nose is citrussy, zesty and slightly spicy. Flavour wise, there's some biscuit, and heaps of fruit, lemon, lime, orange and peach, with some honey notes finishing things off. The hops are firm, and citrussy, providing a nice balance to the sweetness. Fullish body and moderate carbonation. Very nice indeed.

Sample during the "Collaboration Beers On Deck 2!" event on 08/13/2017. Slightly hazy golden color with a medium thick white head that dissipates gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of piney hops, peach and malt. Medium body with flavors of spicy hops, tropical fruit and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hop and fruit aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle. Clear golden pour with a large fluffy white head. Beautiful nose of herbl grassy hops, melon, and a light fruity kiss. Crisp dry pale malt flavor that’s a little biscuity and balanced with a quiet little noble hop bitterness. More complex on the nose than on the palate,

Labelled as an Indian Pale Lager on the bottle and Imperial Pilsner in the descriptive. Take your pick, but I prefer the latter. Fancier. Smells amazing. Toffee sweetness with a bit of lemony citrus and a dash of pine. Tastes like ripe citrus meets resiny deliciousness. Really good.
