Tap at capitol beer and taproom. Pours black. Aroma is roasted malts. And some orange peel. Taste is big roasted stout with some hop balance.

Very well done. It’s a shame this might be a one time deal. Strong blend of roasted and hoppy aromas. Dark stout-like color with a thin tan head. It looked smooth, which is what it was. Good mix of roasted and bitter flavors with hints of chocolate and coffee. I’m glad for the opportunity to try it.

Growler. Pours black with a creamy light brown head. Beautiful floral chocolate, orange, roasted grain, vanilla, and herbal spice aroma. Thick creamy full bodied palate. Tastes of bitter dark chocolate, citrus hops, roasted grain, and orange with a lightly bitter, roasty, finish.

On tap at Ashley’s. Pours black with dark brown head and typical RIS lacing. Aroma is roasty with raisin, molasses, wood, and citrus. Taste is sweet malts, molasses, dark fruit, esters, orange. Full bodied, chewy mouthfeel, low carbonation, boozy finish.

On tap at Stone Company Store in d-town Oceanside. Stoked to get in a rating on this little guy flying under the radar. Barkeep says its a blend of Stone RIS, Sublimely Self Righteous aged on oak with orange. Aroma similar to RIS with hint of orange. Flavor is like the russian stout as well just toned down, showing more hops and a citrus acidity on the end. Smooth palate and full mouthfeel. Pretty good.

On tap at Ashley’s... pours nearly opaque black with a thin black head that lingers. Light roast aroma with carmelly herbal scent ...smooth malt up front with mild citrus edge and nice toasty bitter/burnt finish. Unique beer... I like it

On tap at Ashley’s. Pours near black with a dark brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has some dark grains and light roast with a hint of light citrus peel underneath. Flavor starts with dark grains, raisin and roasted malts with a hint of orange peel.
