COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Previously known as Liberty Station 2nd Anniversary Mocha IPA, now a distributed Stone brand.

Clearly, style lines have been crossed. Is it half-IPA, half-stout? Not quite. It’s definitely all IPA, but it’s also the best of both styles, making this love child of a beer simply just a beautiful, pleasure-seeking meld of imperial IPA and mocha indulgence. How did we come up with this inexplicably delicious creation? Well, that doesn’t really matter. What matters is that it exists and that it’s here for you now, thanks to our deliberate disregard for brewing norms. Some things are not meant to be known, just enjoyed...thoroughly.

6/26/2016 -- from notes: 12oz bottle, from Dutch's. Bottled 5/15/2016. Chocolate up front, and coffee. Spot on mocha, over top of some earthy spicy and kind of piney bigger hop. Moderate-plus sweet taste, moderate bitter, mild bite to it. Medium to bigger body. Good full kind of creamy mild chewiness. Lighter carbonation. Kind of mild dry finish. Somewhat hazy darker amber orange color. Thin white head, leaving great spread of lace. Interesting stuff. Spot on mocha DIPA. Exactly as it sounds. Nice to enjoy with my leftover pizza, but probably not one that I'd want to repeat too often.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2018 From bottle. Wet coffee aromas. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. Well-balanced, with vanilla notes, strong coffee flavours and well-hidden booziness.

12 oz bottle, 12/31/17. Nice golden-amber color. Nice mix of the mocha / coffee / chocolate malts and citrusy hops. Really tasty stuff.

Really really love this beer. I've had other coffee ipa's before but this one is definitely the most balanced I've had. Has a rich golden color and you can smell mocha and chocolate. Taste starts off with caramel, coffee, mocha, and sweet chocolate, and ends with a great ipa bite. A great merge of what you think would be a stout with another great stone ipa. If I could only just find this again out here in Denver.

A good variation of Stone's top notch IPAs. Has a dry finish with a decent alcohol bite at 9%. The coffee and chocolate notes are quite strong. Light smokiness, but more of a roasted flavor. Hazy medium orange appearance with an off-white head. Would like to try this on tap.

Idiosynkrasie (8204) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - DEC 17, 2017
355ml bottle. Cloudy, dark amber colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Citrusy and slightly resinous, hoppy aroma, condensed, zesty citrus notes of lemon and orange, rather subtle mocha support. Taste is moderately sweet malty, notes of caramel and toffee mingled with sugared mocha, slightly artificial overtones of houndreds and thousands, citrusy hoppy notes of lemon and orange peel. The nose gives an idea of how to use coffee as well supporting, not dominating adjunct, taste is too sweet and slightly artificial, therefore slightly unbalanced and conglomerate.

(Draught at BrewDog Kungsholmen, Stockholm, 31 Aug 2017) Reddish amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty nose with notes of orange peel, caramel, toffee, black-currant and hints of chocolate. Fruity, malty taste with black-currant, orange peel, caramel, coffee, chocolate and a generous spicy bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and quite complex, with lots of hop driven flavours combined with coffee and chocolate. Very nice.

Gobblet at Mellow Mushroom - nose is citrus and faint roasted coffee. Sip is way more flavorful than the nose suggests. Bitter from the hops, no duh. I like the oddness the coffee adds. Should be a unique style like imperial session red ales.
