on tap at DLD ’09 and alewife for the stone total tap takeover ’10. pours a hazy, orange-gold with a creamy, yellow-white head and sticky lacing. aroma is great with fresh, sticky, pine hops, wet greass, and blood oranges backed by elegant red wine, tannins, plums, and light toffee. flavor is fantastic with the fruity red wine notes perfectly integrated with notes of oak, vanilla, pine esters, and citrus hops with toasted toffee coming in late and the wine tannins adding a unique tartness to the finish. palate is smooth, medium bodied, and lightly carbonation with just a touch of heat. overall, a great wine barrel aged brew. jredmond (8285) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 7, 2010

On tap at Rattle N Hum during their Stone event. Pours a hazed orange with a thin white head. Big and sweet, light wood and tannins, vanilla candy. Smooth, but get a bit big and boozy. Spicy, tangy red wine and tannins on the finish. RCL (2030) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 4, 2010
2008. Just a wee hint of wine on the nose. Fairly light vinous character gets totally overpowered by all the malt sweetness and still-monstrous hoppiness. fbm115 (187) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 4, 2010

On tap at DLD 2010. Rich red color. nose of some citrus hops and crystal malt and some mild fruits. noticable wine and barrel character in the nose and flavor. I prefer this over the standard ol guardian.
