Piwo bazowe to chyba najlepsze co wyszło w tym piwie, beczka słabo wyczuwalna. egajdzis (6917) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 5, 2017
Hazy red brown color with a small, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Caramel malts, dark fruits, vanilla, wood, bourbon, lighter alcohol in the finish. GenDV138 (8074) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - FEB 22, 2016
500 ml caged & corked bottle poured into a snifter. Bottle of the 2010 Old Guardian aged in bourbon barrels, 10.7% ABV. Dark amber brown with almost a finger of beige head. Aromas of caramel, dark fruit and raisins, light whiskey. Tastes of caramel, toffee, dark fruit and raisins, whiskey, oak, light floral notes. Medium body with a dry and slightly warm finish. Aged very well, nice balance of barrel and barleywine. rejtable (2931) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 24, 2015
Pours amber with no head or lacing. Nose is molasses, cherries, cheerios, bourbon, vanilla. Taste is big sweet, big bitter. Mouth is full creamy with lively carbonation. corby112 (2813) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 19, 2015
Pours a slightly hazy, dark copper color with mahogany edges and a one finger white head that quickly settles into a thin, lasting ring. Minimal spotty lacing left behind. Decent retention for style and ABV.
Strong boozy barrel aroma that’s nicely integrated into the notes of the base beer. Strong toothpick and toasted oak presence along with spicy, boozy bourbon but you can still pick up leathery malt, caramel sweetness and vinous dark fruit notes. Subtle grassy hops in there but they are really overpowered by the charred oak, bourbon and heavy malt bill.
Full bodied with a nice barrel presence that gives off strong dry oak and spicy bourbon sweetness that lingers over the leathery malts and sweeter notes into a bone dry finish. Barrel is a bit stronger than I like with strong booze/heat but the caramel malt sweetness, toffee and dark fruit flavors come through. Dry toothpick and burnt oak followed by boozy bourbon with sherry like notes and vinous currant and fig. Could use more sweetness and toned down barrel flavors but it’s still pretty good.

500 ml bottle purchased in 2013. Pours hazy hazel, medium tan head, dissipates leaving decent lacing. Aroma is toffee, caramelized sugars, some oak, bourbon, hints of vanilla and marshmallow, something a bit harsher, pine needles. Flavor is light plus sweet, medium plus bitter, caramelized sugars, bourbon, pine resin. A bit harsh, honestly. Medium body. I am glad that this is not so sickly sweet, but the bitterness is quite aggressive without any actual character. cards04 (2962) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - SEP 5, 2015
Thanks kathouse for this gem. Pours a murky maroon color. Aromas are big vanilla, coconut, bourbon, sherry. Nice and sweet.. But hoppy too. A nice boozy warmth as it goes down. Dried fruit, caramel, vanilla, bourbon, hops, oak... Great beer. Errl (2577) - Plano, Texas, USA - AUG 11, 2015

Bomber to tulip. Pours a hazy reddish brown. Thin, lacey off white head. Aroma is toffee, alcohol, vanilla, and oak. Taste is tannins, toffee, charred oak, vanilla, and tree sap. neepsntatties (2098) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 15, 2015
Bottled served at a Stone Brewing dinner at the west Burnside Zupans (Portland, OR). Many thanks Micah and Peter! Colour...cloudy-dark Amber with garnet hues and a thin ecru head. Nose...burnt sugar, turbo ado syrup, date paste and steeped Zante currants. Palate...incredible booziness, hot, and volatile. There’s gobs of Muscavado sugar here and masisive medjool dates. Christmas pudding abounds and the hops mend nicely on the loooong finish!
