Dogbrick (13027) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 17, 2016
Sample from 2013 batch at Denver Rare Beer Tasting VIII on 10/07/2016. The beer is a murky orange-brown color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of oak, smoked malt and fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of charred oak, smoky malt, caramel and fruit. The finish is oaky and smoky with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

2013 Vintage, sampled from tap at Stone Garden Berlin. Hazy amber color with small eggshell head. Aroma is prunes, pears, fresh yeasts, a hint of smoke. Taste is more prunes, toffee, a bit dusty, some wood, with a nice bitterness. Oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation still. Very nicely aged American Barleywine!

Draft at WOB as the double dry hopped version. Meaty and smokey aroma. Flavor follows with a lot of meat juice drippings and woody smoke with light citrus. Interesting. http://i.imgur.com/h7sBoq3.jpeg

Copper color with sudsy off-white head. Smoked oaky aroma. Taste is quite smoked and bacony, a nice balanced barley/hop character. Notes: 2013 vintage on tap at Aces & Ales (2014) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

[ Tap ][ Stone Liberty Station ][ 5oz ][ Red Wine Taster ][ $2 ][ 2/2/14 ]
>> Hazy deep orange pour, nice white foam with best retention of the flight. Nose is macadamia, white chocolate. Taste brings a nice macadamia nut bitterness, toasted macadamia nut. Long woody and acidic finish. Don’t pick up any smoke unfortunately.

brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 2, 2014
On tap @ Stone Liberty Station. Hazed orange pour with a sticky off-white head. Slight smoke, lots of oak, and a really rich vanilla character. Nice caramel sweetness and plenty of fruit. Sweet flavors of caramel, vanilla, and candied apple. Quite a bit of oak, light smokiness, and subtle bitterness. Better than the original.
